Bank Holiday Monday and UK General Election coming up
I thought I should record my thoughts about the upcoming general election in UK, to be held on 'Independence Day' 4th July, as announced by UK Conservative PM Rishi Sunak in the rain last Thursday. The commentators point out that Conservatives are about fear under Labour, whereas Labour is about "change" - which is quite a potent offer, given the charge that 14 years of Tory government has damaged this country a great deal ("Tory chaos"). The critics conveniently forget that we had to deal with Covid and cost of living crises. However, I feel tempted by "change"!
