Experiencing Crippling Self-Doubt

Nov 06, 2008 16:05

Okay, so I'm having some serious issues as regard my thesis (mainly because the last critique consisted of 'it's pretty and doesn't say anything; your art is shallow and meaningless').
Could someone please tell me that I've drawn something with more than simple surface prettiness at some point in my life?
God, I'm so glad I've opted out of next semester. I haven't felt this bad about myself in years.

Update 11/10: apparently that emotional shredding I experienced was "a great deal of wonderful feedback," at least according to my adviser. I cannot wait to be done with this.
