Okay... I'm not much of a cook but I often feel the need to test if I have picked up any of my mom's skillz over the course of my life.
Since it was Labor Day everyone was in the house and wondering what we should have for dinner... so after a brief exploration of the Food Network website I found the most AMAZING-ly simple and delicious-sounding recipe. I just HAD to try it...
AMAZING Pork Chop Recipe
4 - (6-8 oz pork chops/ribs)
1/2 cup red wine
1 teaspoon of Paprika
Pinch of Cumin
2-3 cloves garlic
2 tablespoons of olive oil (or less)
In a large bowl or plastic ziplock bag, add the pork chops and top with red wine, paprika, cumin and garlic. Place into refrigerator for about 1 hour.
Remove the pork chops form the marinade. Discard Marinade. In a large saute pan over medium-high heat, add a touch of olive oil. Once heated, add pork chops and sear on both sides until golden brown and cooked through.
*What I learned after making it: It's better to mix the marinade ingredients in the half cup of wine and pour it into a bag THEN add the meat. Broiling the pork brings out true flavor of the marinade. ALSO Try to use the least amount of oil and garlic... it just tastes better that way.
I wanted to share it with you all in case you ever have to make dinner to impress someone because it's simple, fast and IT SMELLS HEAVENLY.
oh and
pomegranate_red we're making this for dinner when I'm back at school!!! I'm pretty sure your boy will like it :)
