*grins* It is, unfortunately. On the bright side, if it wasn't difficult, everyone could do it and therefore it would stop being art.

I don't think art is a commodity, at least not in this case. Art involves being able to look at things from a different perspective, therefore if everyone could do it, there would be no different perspective to consider, therefore art would be just craft. And sure, we should appreciate good craft, but craft =/= art.

Yes, exactly. Art is different perspective + craft, which is why I give modern art a wide berth - I just don't see the craft in it (unless craft is creative advertising).
