GAH.
Whenever someone asks me why do I think god (i.e. an omniscient being, for the purposes of this post) exists I say it's because the universe is too big of a cosmic joke not to have someone capable of comprehension to not be able to laugh at it. I mean, come on, what a complete waste would that be, eh?
Case in point, me, and Supernatural. Since the episode airs at what to me is stupid a.m. on Thursday night, I only start the dlling on Friday. Hour varies. Last week I was all set to get it and watch it, without delay. Of course, the download took 12 hours. This week, when I promised I shall wait for sister, and there it is, not an hour later, sitting reading and tempting in my movie file. Sigh.
So,
"On the Head of a Pin" was a ride. Indeed, Dean is going to feel guilty forever, after this one. Forever and ever and ever, because no matter what he does and however successful he is, he will not forget it was his fault it began. It sucks to be Dean so much right now and possibly ever from now on. But, I cannot believe John was supposed to be the one to begin the breaking of the seals. John made the deal with Azazel, presumably his soul went into Azazel's stack, not Lilith's. Unless all souls are free game or some such. I don't think Azazel wanted the end of the world, and since we were told more or less that he was in charge (or at least vying for it), I think it was only his death that allowed Lilith to step up her own plans. That's when Ruby with her revelations stepped up, wasn't it? And John was long gone from Hell by then.
Sam and Ruby are scaring me. Ruby because I still don't know what her deal is, and it cannot be good, and Sam because he allowed her judgement to convince him and Sam's whole being is about a list of pros and cons. It is frightening.
Castiel... I'm beginning to suspect the reason he was the one to raise Dean was because the other angels were busy fighting off demons. Castiel's the angel the other angels beat up for his crayons and lunch money. He made the seal on the floor? Well, gee, good little geek, how much thinking would it take to carve it into the cement? Burn? Use oil-based paint? The CSI: Angel was very cute though. :) Loved the pretty we got in this episode all the same, from the opening scene (car alarms switch-off, woot!) and the bonding with Dean. He truly, honestly feels something for Dean, he wants him to be okay and that is heart warming.
Uriel's revelation didn't really surprise me much. He blundered in muttering about mud monkeys and how much does humanity doesn't deserve to live, I wondered how come was he still an angel, when he disagreed so strongly with serving humans.
In other news, I went to see Watchmen, and though I could have lived without the violence, WOAH. Awesomecakes. <3
