You are the queen of atmosphere, did I say that before? I forget. Wow Jem, this is so beautiful to read and so vivid. I can see it and feel the tangibleness of it and also the kind of longingness and freedom of it. It’s really affecting! And oh so atmospheric, I just want to go wade out into the sea now, or no… not wade, just dip my toe in the water or something, something minimal.
I would call it almost sensual too because it’s more than just visual or just emotive. It’s the kind of piece where you can almost feel a breeze in the room because you mind is reading something that expects it to be there. Or out side there might be the sound of blackbirds singing but all of a sudden you hear a seagull and it seems to fit with the story so you think nothing of it but then you double take and can’t quite work out whether it was real or you just imagined it. That might just be me though, hehe.
