Jake I just want to thank you for everything. On the flight home I actually sat next to a very sweet young girl. When asked, she told me she was 5, holding out her hand to show me. Her name was Allie, and I don't think I shall ever forget the words she said to me. She asked me quite bluntly why I was so thin. It took me back at first, but I answered her honestly. I explained to her what it was and then she proceeded to tell me about her mum. I wasn't sure why she was telling me about her, but after she shared many sweet memories with me, I discovered why. Her mother had been anorexic for years and it had killed her. She and her father lived in Texas, but were flying to Las Angeles for her mother's funeral. Her parents had divorced because of the strain of her mum's issues and the father remained in Texas while the mum moved to L.A, hoping to become an actress.
Allie had been forced to grow up faster than her years because of so many adult issues she was faced with. There was the obvious pain of her losing her mother, but she remained composed. I've never been one to be religious, but I know that I met Allie for a reason. I needed to meet her. Because I know I will have the same end as her mother if I don't fix myself soon. I'm ready to open up.
