My current LJ name/title (let's hold hands and fly) is inspired by this book because when I read that particular passage, I laughed and laughed at the awful.
We ended with me on the couch, my arms above my head over the arm of the couch. Nathaniel held my wrists against the arm, but it wasn’t like he was holding me down. It was more the way you hold hands when one of you has thrown your body into the sky, and you reach out to catch the hands that you know will be there. The hands keep you from falling. The hands that keep you airborne.
Oh, it's that sex scene. *sagenod* Hehe, I enjoyed that one because it's basically the only scene Nathaniel plays a significant role in. Jason bores me; he's not magic-weird enough.
I think, although I've only accidentally read one of her books, I might have the same reaction to Anne Bishop's Black Jewels series as to LKH. They seem to be smoking related types of crack.

(I skim-read all of LKH's books. It's a fact of life.)
