Yuletide YAY!

And now I squee with delight over my Yuletide gifts! I received *two* stories this year, which floored me!!

The secret between the two of them by Josie for Sunao ni Narenakute is exactly the kind of story for Linda and Peach that I wanted. The characterizations are spot-on (Peach offers to kick Nakaji's ass! ♥ for this alone I would love the author) and the story captures the mood of the show very well. Bonus happiness for cameos by drunken Doctor, Haru, and Nakaji. :D But most of all, the story shows Linda and his private suffering without making him pathetic. This is not easy to do, but the author balances him just right. The icing on the cake is having Peach there, understanding Linda, and both of them sharing the burden of being better friends to everyone else than everyone else is to them. Honestly, this story is so much what I'd hoped for that it's like the author read my mind.

(I LOLed at drunken Doctor singing cheesy, mispronounced Japanese love songs! If this line was a meta swipe at Jaejoong, it comes across affectionately and works too well for dorky Doctor. *g*)

Into the Parlor by Dorinda for Peacemakers -- DUDE! PEACEMAKERS! And this story is so incredibly perfect and well-crafted that I can't do much more than flail and run around grinning like a madwoman. It's Stone and Finch and every detail, every line of dialogue, every look, every action is absolutely *them*. This is like a long-lost episode (it even solves the off-screen crime mentioned at the end of the pilot which the show itself never went back to), but an episode shown on Kaychannel, with the lovely notes of Stone/Finch that are subtle yet there. And Katie shows up! And Chipper! And Isaac! And Vic Simmons! And it's got... I don't know, just *everything*. In a perfect Peacemakers-wrapped gift! This story, ohmygosh! *flails & grins*

*Hugs both stories hard*

And in the =phew= department, both of my recipients seemed to enjoy their stories, so more yay. I had a lot of fun writing both of them.

Now I want to go see what stories my friends received, but the archive seems... yeah, maybe I better wait on that. I will say that I liked how the signups and especially how the upload-stories function worked on AO3 this year.

ETA: Yuletide authors added.
