The one about the brass German eagle... Notice the *breakfast scene*. :)
Oh yes, *that* one. Rather high on my rotation scene, that one :)
but I'd just never been, uh, shall we say exposed to Tony Curtis in such a way as The Persuaders accomplishes. Heh.
Yup. You know what's really scary? The lads showed up at the Empire Awards (possibly still up at chez Empire?) and they were still in character. Scary, but the evidence of mine eyes does not deceive me.
Sometimes I wish Brian would do an episode of Life On Mars. Just for my personal amusement :)
Currently, I'm working my way through The Saint, both via dvd and the current UKTV run of the colour ones. Last Sat he actually self haloed. "You'll go blind," snarked the peanut gallery somewhat wickedly.
But back to The Persuaders? What's not to love. There's another one where they keep ending up in each other's hotel rooms, to the consternation of the babe du jour. Okay, must dig out set so I can be a little more on the ball than trying to ramble through my fave Persuaders moments, all of which seem an endless round of the boys just accidentally falling over each other or being fey beyond the call of duty.
The one where there's a fake Lord Sinclair in Chez Sinclair is a good one, too. I know that one by heart because it pops up on cable a lot in one of those episodes stitched together as a tv movie things.
Btw, have you seen Life on Mars? The show that was made just for us? :D
They're doing that in the bronze German eagle one, as well. And there's a sofa scene in that one...
Hah, well, it's probably the very one I was thinking of. That one is a fave and on high rotation :)
I'm torn between "awwww" and "yipes".
That's where I fell :)
Yep, devoured it whole! :) Absolutely wonderful! I just bought the DVD set from England, because that show is definitely a keeper.
It's like they read my LJ and decided to make a show from it:
slashy
70s cops
car chases
cardboard boxes
angst
time travel
more angst
hallcinations/madness/general weirdness
silliness
yet more slash
John Simm
Philip Glenister
budgie smugglers
retro tunes
social commentary
culture clashes
nostalgia
tight trousers
leather jackets
Talk about a show that pushes *all* my buttons. I love it to death (as a quick peruse of the old lj will testify, btw follow the tags to musings, fic, links, scans, vids, screen caps, downloads, etc). Oh my, how I love Sam and Gene. Swoon.
