Bad Check-Up

So the last day or so has been horrible for me.

I went to the optician yesterday for a regular check because I needed a new pair of glasses and I had thought my diobtry had changed slightly. But as they are running the regular check (cover one eye and read the letters with the other) we discover that my left eye is abnormally worse compared to my last time there. Turns out my 'slight change' was all in my left and I'd never noticed because my right eye was compensating.

What had seemed like a slight blurryness to me turned out to be the result of my left eye completely reversing it's diobtry (from + to -).

So they dilated my pupils and snapped a pic of my left retina, which showed what my doctor called 'striations.' He had no clue what they were or meant but was very concerned at the amount of change in my vision.

So instead of a new pair of glasses I left out with an appointment for the 14th with a retinologist the next town over and have pretty much been an anxious wreck over this since then.

I tried googling what 'striations on the retina' could mean but haven't found anything.

Happy Valentines Day! :(
