...okay, since i have nothing else to do, it's time for another weekend update...
Friday, May 16
...i'll be starting right after work, after commuting home, after getting my car, and after picking up ran from WEB-JET ACROPOLIS...
...we went to sm megamall to watch speed racer...while we were at the open parking lot, it suddenly rained cats and dogs...because there was no umbrella inside the car, we waited for the storm to calm itself...then ran all the way to the entrance...we were kinda drenched, and shivering inside the mall...eniweiz, we went for the LFS (Last Full Show for those who doesn't know) of speed racer...so while waiting, we went walking around the mall...we passed by toy kingdom and saw a ranch filled with plastic animals...hehehe hurrah for the new alternative for expensive live animals...
...then after walking a bit, we finally got hungry so we decided to eat at Max's Fried Chicken...that budget meal still hasn't changed (except for the price, that is), it still has that same flavor and taste that i've had waaaaaaaayyy back in elementary hahaha....then it was time to watch the much-awaited speed racer....
*MOVIE REVIEW* my first impression was: "WTF?!" what did they do to speed racer, one of my favorite tv shows when i was a kid? they made it colorful, too colorful that it made me wonder if we were required to wear 3-D glasses (spy kids anyone?) while watching the show...if you take a look at the whole movie, it was like the characters were pasted on to the background...it was pretty obvious that everything was done inside a studio, the background was very FAKE!! they even added a bit of colorful melee combat scenes wherein the characters actually reveal their aura while fighting...they made it too futuristic which kinda lost all traces of speed racer...but what really caught my attention was the car-to-car combat...i was sorta wondering if i was watching the right movie, coz it really doesn't seem like speed racer to me...anyone know of CRUSH GEAR?! yepz, i think the movie should be called "Crush Gear the movie" instead...
Comparison between Crush Gear and Speed Racer the movie:
1. the courses are very weird and very reminiscent of crush gear such as spikes protruding out of the ground...it's like a roller coaster ride with a lot of loops and changing stages, such as icy levels and volcanic levels...
2. spinning cars anyone? yes, if you take a look at the combat between cars, it imitates the combat scenes in crush gear...you know, cars that keep on spinning then it hits the wall to change direction of the spin...then the other cars try to push you to the side hoping that you will fall out of the ring...then they just keep banging and crushing each other, with very minimal damage to the body of the car....WEIRD!!
3. last but not the least, all cars carry special weapons that they use to own the enemy...
ok that's it, i'm calling this one "Crush Gear the movie"....any complaints?! :D very very disappointing movie...but hey, it was a bit entertaining even if it did not follow the actual storyline...and it was the first hollywood film starring RAIN, the korean idol of Full House fame!!
before the day comes to an end, we went home and had a custard bun paaaarrtteeeehhhh!! hehehe...
Saturday, May 17
....slept late so i wasn't able to go to the gym anymore...after bringing ran to her office, went back home to resume my sleep...it was very windy outside, and so nice to sleep all day!!
....eniweiz, woke up at 1am to prepare for our every saturday basketball game...but i passed by our house at tandang sora first to leave the external dvd burner that i borrowed, then proceeded to vista real clubhouse...
...this was considered to be the worst basketball day i've ever had...after only a minute, i can't breathe properly anymore...it bothered my game, so i didn't do very well this time...i wasn't sure if it was because i lack sleep or it was something else...i still tried to finish the game anyway despite my heavy breathing hahaha....then i played two more games after that, but i was just walking back and forth the court...hahaha one of my pathetic games, not to be remembered!!
...after the game, we had our usual general assembly at the sari-sari store located at the very peak of vista real classica...we shared stories and stuff, then had a rare pictorial...
eniweiz, after everything was over, i picked ran up from her office then ate at kamirori resto in katips...wow, they had good food, and the price was almost the same as teriyaki boy...their ice cream crepe was the best hehehe!! yum yum...
...then it was time to go home...before sleeping, we watched CJ7, the latest film starring Stephen Chow...it was a very different approach compared to all the other Stephen Chow movies...this time it has less kungfu, less humor, and more on the dramatic part...the story focuses on Dicky Chow, the selfish poor son of Stephen Chow in the movie, and how he learned all about the lessons of life, and respecting the elders...but what made the movie fun to watch is CJ7, an alien dog that stephen Chow picked up on the dump...CJ7 was very cute and funny...you should have seen ran's expression upon seeing the cute alien dog hehehe...CJ7 has one ability though, and that is to reconstruct matter in exchange for its own life...definitely a MUST SEE film!!
...then it was time to sleep, and prepare for the next day...
Sunday, May 18
finally, the last day of my boring weekend...ran and I had a late breakfast, then we went to their house to wait for "manang" who, as usual, we couldn't contact because she doesn't have a cellphone....and because of this, we didn't know if she came earlier or if we have to wait a bit longer...and so, after long hours of waiting, she didn't arrive....maybe we missed her again!!
...eniweiz, while waiting for 'manang', i was playing B-Boy...B-Boy is a rhythm game that focuses on breakdancing...it wasn't really very entertaining for me compared to other rhythm games such as Elite Beat Agents...but what caught my attention was that i have a total look-alike inside the game...i made a custom player that actually looks like me...in fact, it is like an exact duplicate of me...
...apologies if the editing was sort of sucky...first and foremost, it was very hard to take pictures of the screen of the psp because of the glare...second, i only used paint to edit the pics hehehe....so this is the outcome!! :D
...eniweiz, it was already 4am then, so we just went straight ahead to sm north...aaahhhh that familiar smell of jologness still linger hahaha!! been a while, i think already one year since i last stepped foot at sm north...and to my surprise, despite the presence of trinoma, sm north was jam packed filled with people...it was like the mrt all over again during rush hour...i wonder if it was because it's sunday, or there is a sale somewhere that we don't know of....
...eniweiz, we went to mr quickie to have ran's shoes repaired...it was probably because her foot's gotten fat that her shoes were badly damaged...they even said that one of her shoes can't be repaired anymore hwehwehwe....
...then we proceeded to watch Harold and Kumar: Escape to Guantanamo Bay...it was a direct sequel to the first one, even though they looked older in the movie...in my opinion, i think it was better than speed racer hahaha!! but compared to the first one, i think i like the White Castle episode more than this one....they made this movie to dramatic and emo, although they still retain much of the comedy in some way...cockmeat sandwich anyone? hehehe...
...for those who doesn't know what a cockmeat sandwich is (and you're dying to know what it is), i suggest you watch the movie hehehe...it'll take your hunger away!! :D
eniweiz, after the movie, we ate at TokyoCafe...finally, i was able to eat at tokyocafe, it's one of the best jap resto in my opinion...but if you have very low budget, then i suggest you go to bubble tea instead (twin sister of tokyocafe but much cheaper)...i really like the food there, plus they have large servings...all of that waiting in line business was not wasted, we were able to satisfy our hunger...i wanna go back to try out the other dishes, but there's gonna be a line waiting for every visit hehehe....patience will win in the end!!
...after eating, we went to crazy crepe to buy an apple butterscotch crepe...it was yummylicious :D
...then it was time to go home....after that very tiring day, i just wanna lie down and sleep soundly....ZZzzZZzzZZzz!!
P.S. I do apologize for the sucky english grammar and use of strange language...i'm currently tired and exhausted, not in the right mind to make a grammatically correct novel...i lack sleep, and wanna sleep some more...besides the fact that i really suck in the use of english hahaha!!
