After the lights turned off, they played an introduction video on the large screen. Can't remember too much about it, except thundering sound, lightning, a small boy, a key, a door...I'm sure the concept of the video was related to the 'hikari' CD covers. Anyway, then each of the member's face appeared one by one. If I remember correctly, the order was Yuya, Aki, Shinji and Mao. Everyone screamed when each of the face appeared and it was obvious that Mao got the loudest screams. Then the video finished and Yuya, Aki and Shinji walked onto the stage, prompting even louder screaming. It was deafening! They got to their positions and prepared themselves. Finally, Mao came onto the stage and everyone went crazy screaming as loud as they could.
Costume
Mao - sleeveless black and white one-piece dress with red jacket, black shorts over black leggings and red sneakers. Red bandana bow over forehead. Black eye patch over his right eye (because his eye was slightly bloodshot and swollen)
Shinji - something like a suit and a hat. Looked very classy. Black eye makeup around his eyes (was so surprised he wore makeup since he usually doesn't and even Mao said it was rare).
Aki - white sleeveless top with purple flower patterns and black pants with a line down both sides (sort of like Adidas trainers). Hair wasn't set and was naturally down, which looked very nice.
Yuya - mainly black. Can't remember the details because he was sitting down the whole time :(
Setlist
落園- Mao's voice was very powerful. Not sure if it's because of the sound system or if was just me, I thought he had a cold because his voice sounded a bit nasal.
妄想日記2 - the guitar sounded even more wild than the CD version
夏恋- very fun to jump along to, but because you can only jump up and down on the same spot due to limited space, my legs were really tired at the end of the song. Mao replaced 逢いたい with 逢いたかった.
MC
嘘- Mao's voice sounded really good and very close to the CD version
Sweet? - the crescent moon-shaped light was in rainbow colours and there were also very bright spotlights, which suited the disco tune. I got blinded by all these bright lights XD
Dear Tokyo - so glad they did this song again this year because it's very energetic and sounds even better when it's live. Really good to hear Aki, Shinji and Yuya sing part of the chorus. The guys and the audience did the clapping and it was in sync. We got to sing '可能性が腹を空かせてる きっと大丈夫 きっと大丈夫さ' that's near the end of the song. Mao replaced 'Dear Tokyo' with 'Dear Okayama' at the end.
MC
2℃目の彼女- very happy to hear it live because without this song, I wouldn't have known SID. The screen showed snow falling, which looked very pretty.
罪木崩し- the screen was red most of the time, maybe to portray the passionate feel of the song.
モノクロのキス- the screen showed black and white bubbles
日傘- Mao's voice was so high-pitched near the end of the song that it was earsplitting XD At one point, he sang whilst kneeling on the ground.
MC
capsule - Aki's top became unbuttoned and we could see his chest XD The song was very loud and wild and there were lots of headbanging in the audience.
サーカス- Aki started clapping at the beginning of the song and we all followed. We also clapped during the chorus. Didn't realise it's such a good song to clap to.
Member call - the order was Yuya, Aki, Shinji and Mao. Did the usual Ohta Issan call during Shinji's call. So funny!! Today, Shinji's pronounciation of 'ohta' was that it started out loud and strong and ended softly. He asked us to shout 'issan' in the same way. We couldn't get it right the first time so he made us do it again. After we shouted 'issan' at one point, he pretended to take his jacket off, which caused some screaming and lots of laughing from us. We shouted 'issan' so many times! At the end of the call, Shinji threw a can of Ohta Issan to the audience on the 1st floor.
循環- lots of people were spinning, but since no one around me was doing it, I twirled my hands instead. Mao waved at us and we waved back when he sang 'さよなら'.
and boyfriend - Aki led the clapping at the beginning again. I jumped up and down during the chorus, but in the end became too tired, so stopped jumping and just moved my arms up and down.
Drama - silver streamers flew out, but the furthest they went to was the front section of the 2nd floor, so I couldn't get any.
Encore
ノイロヲゼパアティー- Lots of people screamed and became excited when Mao announced the song. He said it's been about 2 years (?) since they last performed the song at a live. Since it's not a song they often perform, I felt very lucky to have heard it. I liked it when all 4 of them sang the 'do do do...' part that's near the end of the song.
MC
smile - moved arms up and down during the chorus...couldn't be bothered to jump :P
妄想日記- many people did the furi, but I didn't know how to and it was too quick to follow.
エール- was expecting to hear 眩暈 according to the setlists for the other places they've been to so far on this tour, but for some reason it changed to エール. Not that I mind because I always wanted to hear this song live. We all pumped our fists in the air and it was lovely to hear Aki's backing vocals.
MC
光- Mao's voice was strong yet gentle. On the screen, it showed images that linked to what was shown in the introduction video, eg. the key opening the door.
MC Details
I can't remember everything that was said because they talked A LOT. Mao and Shinji talked the most, while Aki and Yuya only talked when they were asked something. Sometimes they talked too fast and I couldn't catch what they were saying and also because of my limited Japanese. Here's what I could remember (not in any order).
- Mao asked us if we're hot and he said it's so hot it's like the air-conditioner wasn't on. Very true because I felt quite hot not long after the live started. So he decided to take his jacket off and some girls screamed.
- Mao asked the guys in the audience to yell and they were quite loud since there were a lot of them. I noticed the guy in front of me didn't yell. He said he likes it how they're deep-voiced. Then a girl on the 1st floor yelled with a deep voice and it surprised Mao, who told her not to practice at home otherwise she would scare her parents.
- During the 1st MC, Mao suggested to have a competition to see which floor could yell the loudest. We had to yell after he said 'Se~~no'. He decided to make us yell Shinji's name but wanted something funny. So he was saying 'Shi...shi...shi...' out loud while thinking of a name and was laughing to himself at the same time. Kawaii! He finally decided on 'Shi-tan' XD Somewhere along, he also came up with 'Shi-pyon' (LOL). He said after we shout 'Shi-tan', we might be able to see Shinji do a 'Shi-tan'-like pose. We on the 2nd floor shouted first and after we did, Shinji closed his eyes and did a praying pose. After the 1st floor shouted, Shinji was to decide which floor was louder and he said the 1st floor was louder, but the 2nd floor was also loud. This prompted a lot of 'Ehhhh~~~~' from us on the 2nd floor. Mao said Shinji doesn't want to be hated by the 2nd floor and Shinji agreed. Then Mao said if Shinji said the 1st floor was louder, then that's that and by saying that for Shinji, now he'll be hated by the 2nd floor. Don't know how the 1st floor won when there's more people on the 2nd floor...what's wrong with you, Shinji? We were very loud!!
- Shinji said he used to be called Shi-tan when he was young. And somehow, he also gets called Kiyoshi when he goes back home.
- All of SID and staff members had BBQ by the river yesterday. Mao had 10 sausages in one go. He said when it comes to rivers, he thinks of BBQ and it's strange that Yuya went fishing. Yuya started to defend himself by saying 'Ano ne ano ne' and there were shouts of 'Kawaii' from the audience. He said there's nothing cute about it, which made him sound even more cute XD He explained that he thinks of fishing by the river when river is mentioned. So Yuya went fishing but he complained the river didn't flow at all, to which Shinji said it did flow. In the end, he only caught one fish and hardly ate anything. Mao said Aki was too busy drinking instead of eating (LOL). Aki said he likes umeshu a lot. He became drunk and people who know what he's like when he's drunk all started leaving him. Mao excused himself to go back and Shinji escaped by saying he saw some mushrooms that are a bit far away.
- They mentioned Momotaro since it originated in Okayama. Mao decided on who gets to be who in Momotaro (just like what they did when they were at Kurashiki for the Sentimental Macchiato tour last year). Mao said he's Momotaro, Aki is the peacock, Shinji is the dog and when it came to Yuya, everyone shouted 'Saru' (monkey). Very funny!
- Mao spoke a few phrases in Okayama-ben and people cheered. I asked the girl next to me (she's from Okayama) what he said and whether they're correct. The first phrase he said was 'Is everyone excited?' and it was correct. Then he asked 'Is this correct' many times, but he actually said it wrong!
- Mao said he likes to separate people according to whether they're S or M. He said he's S, Aki is M, Yuya is normal (LOL) and doesn't know about Shinji. Shinji said he's HM and Mao asked him what it meant, to which Shinji replied it stood for "Hard M" XD Then Mao said Shinji is H&M (name of clothing shop). Shinji said someone who is M can be S but S can't be M. So they decided to try it out by having Shinji (Hard M) pretend to be S and stick out his foot and tell Mao to lick it. Can't remember the exact words, but he said it in a soft and indirect way...something like 'You can lick it if you want'. Mao said it's not S at all, so being the S he is, he showed Shinji how it's meant to be. Mao put out his foot and said 'Namerou!' (lick it!) in a demanding way to Shinji, who just kicked Mao's foot.
- Mao and Shinji said they have a tendency to talk about dirty jokes and it doesn't matter if they're indies or major, they'll continue to do so. I'm sure they said a lot of it, but I didn't catch most of it because my Japanese is lacking in this area (LOL). All I know was that the everyone was laughing a lot, while I had no idea what was going on. The only word I understood out of the whole thing was when Shinji said 'chin chin', which I'm not going to translate, so look it up yourself if you want to know what it means XD
Random Bits
Can't remember when they happened during the live, so I'll just mention them here.
- During a song, Mao was doing some strange dance movement by moving his legs in a strange way and it looked hiliarious.
- They played this really cool jazzy music and I thought it was the new song, but apparently it was to stall for time to fix up some equipment trouble. Aki or Shinji left the stage at one point. We were clapping along to the music, which sounded really good. I want to listen to it again! Yuya messed up his part and was determined to be 'Out' by Mao and the audience. Then Yuya blamed it on Koike-san and we shouted 'Out' for both of them.
- Shinji made the exact 'Boron' sound that he did when he was explaining his calligraphy in Amesuta from January last year. It sounded so funny! Sorry, but can't put the sound into words properly.
- When Aki came to my side, I could see that he gained muscles. When he was playing, I could clearly see his chest move up and down as his top was unbuttoned XD It was hard not to notice it even from the 2nd floor (LOL).
After Drama finished, the guys went backstage and the call for encore started. Some people sat down, which I thought was a bit rude. Most of us were calling out 'Encore' and clapping at the same time. At first, everyone said 'Encore' in an upbeat kind of way, but halfway through, everyone slowed down a bit because we were all tired. The encore call was sooooo long!! I've never experienced such a long call for encore. I think it lasted about 10 minutes. I can't remember...it felt like forever! My hands started to hurt during the call because I was clapping non-stop until they came out. It was good that our enthusiasm didn't die down. When they finally came out, everyone screamed and cheered very loudly. My poor hands could finally get a rest (LOL). Mao thanked everyone for asking for encore (of course we would!).
Mao changed into the oversized white T-shirt that he wore at Osaka-jo Hall. Aki didn't change at all...I was hoping he'd take off his top, but he didn't. Shinji and Yuya changed into the striped tour T-shirt.
When the encore finished, they said their farewell speeches which I completely didn't catch. I just remembered Aki's voice sounded very manly compared to what he usually sounds like. They each took turns and went to each side and waved to the audience. Aki was so cute when he smiled and waved at us. Actually, he was smiling a lot during the live and pointed to the audience a few times.
All their water bottles were thrown to the 1st floor. Yuya threw his drumsticks to the 2nd floor and it landed on the walkway that was just in front of the row before me. The girl closest to where the drumstick landed climbed out of her seat to get it and was so excited. If only Yuya threw it a bit higher and a bit more to his left, then I would have been able to catch it. Arghhh...so close yet so far.
Aki was the first to leave the stage, followed by Shinji and then Yuya, leaving Mao to be the last. We were all shouting his name. He got us to yell his name out even louder and he seemed very happy and satisfied. Then he put his finger to his lips and we became quiet. Without his mic, he shouted 'Aishiteimasu!' Kyaaaaaa!!!! *faints* Everyone screamed so much! After he left, the screen showed the words (not exact) 'We can definitely meet again'.
It was nearly 10pm when the live finished, which was way overtime as they were supposed to finish at 9pm. The call for encore only started around 9:15pm. It's because their MCs were too long (LOL). I was supposed to catch the Shinkansen just before 10pm, but I felt bad if I had to leave during the live, although I did see some people leave after encore started. But I was glad I stayed until the end, otherwise I wouldn't have heard Mao's love shout <3
However, the tram ride back to Okayama station was hell because it was the last one for the night and a lot of people tried to get on and we ended up being squished like sardines. As soon as I got off the tram, I ran to the station fearing there were no more Shinkansens that would take me back to Osaka. Luckily, when I asked a staff, he told me there was one at 10:30pm and I got there in time for this last Shinkansen. I must have been a terrible sight by the time I reached the platform because I was flustered and sweaty from rushing. I was so scared that I couldn't go back to Osaka and have to stay the night at Okayama. But even after all this, it was so worth it to watch the live until the end.
Thank you SID for such a wonderful live! I fully enjoyed it, although I started to panic about the ending time when encore started. I definitely want to attend another live in the future if I have a chance because they really are at their best when they're on stage. I feel very lucky to have found such a great band and am proud to be their fan.
