but still, can we? [2/2]

part i

Twelve year old Park Chanyeol sat alone inside the train carriage, bouncing on his seat while waiting for their departure. His face split into a grin when the engines rumbled and the majestic Hogwarts Express started to leave King's Cross as the clock struck 11:00AM. In just a few hours the young boy would arrive at the famous Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and he was beyond excited. He had learned a grand total of two spells over the course of the summer and he was itching to try them out.

Chanyeol eagerly watched the passing scenery through the glass windows, unmindful of the chaos of the other students meeting each other outside. Nothing unpleasant touched him. It wasn't wrong to say that he lived a charmed life. The boy basically got everything he wanted. He had the carriage to himself, the Park family's fame and money ensuring that their youngest would have the best service during the trip. That was why he was more than a little surprised when he heard someone slide his carriage door open.

Chanyeol turned his head to see a boy standing by the door, lugging an old duffel bag in his thin arms. The kid was wearing a red woolen sweater and baggy pants at least two sizes too big for him. His unruly dark brown hair was covering almost half of his small face and Chanyeol thought he looked like a field mouse.

But then the boy stared at him, smiled ever so brightly and the taller boy thought that-well, he didn't look like a mouse at all. He was even kind of pretty. Which was odd because boys didn't look pretty, did they? Chanyeol was a boy and he wasn't pretty so he decided that this boy just looked different.

"Hi! I'm Byun Baekhyun. Oh, and you're alone here. Can I share?" the kid didn't wait for his reply before entering and closing the door behind him. He then went on to sit across from Chanyeol. "The train's full and I was late so I told my mom we should drive to the station early or we'll be caught in traffic and you know moms, they never do what you tell them so-"

Chanyeol just gaped at Baekhyun as he went on and on about the streets of London and cats and his relief from escaping the city's perpetually bad weather. He learned that the other boy was only six months older than him and that he definitely loved strawberries-all this in a span of a few minutes. Baekhyun only paused to blow his hair away from his small eyes and Chanyeol thought that perhaps it was possible for a boy to be pretty. Even in those clothes.

"But you haven't told me your name yet," Baekhyun said.

"Um, you have a nice name,” Chanyeol blurted out, embarrassed because that wasn’t even close to the right answer. Baekhyun looked surprised but then laughed right after. The knots inside the younger boy’s stomach untangled at the sound.

"Oh, wait. Your face! Could you be related to the Daily Prophet reporter? Park Yura?"

Chanyeol was startled at the sudden focus on him, stuttering a bit when he replied. "Y-yes. I mean. Yes, I'm her brother. Park Chanyeol."

The curiosity in Baekhyun's expression effectively shook Chanyeol out of the weird trance he was in. They were going to talk about his family. This was familiar territory. He smirked. "She's nominated for Outstanding Journalist of the Year." When Baekhyun only nodded, he continued. "Do you know my Uncle Jungsoo? He was the youngest to receive the Gold Medal for Ground-Breaking Contribution to the International Alchemical Conference. But that was actually nothing compared to my cousin Yoochun who was given the title of British Youth Representative to the Wizengamot when he turned fourteen."

Truth be told he had a long list of Parks who were famous for something or the other (the awards were a mouthful but he had been hearing them since birth, it wasn’t hard for him to memorize) and he probably still would not be done listing their accomplishments by the time they reached the castle but Chanyeol was confused when Byun Baekhyun appeared unimpressed as he went on. So he paused in the middle of enumerating his cousin Shin Ye's acting awards in the Muggle world and asked the other kid, "What?"

Baekhyun scooted forward in his seat. "Your family's really great and all but how about you? What are you known for?"

Chanyeol was taken aback. He hadn't been asked that question before. Ever.

"Oh, but we're just twelve so maybe-what do you want to be when you grow up?" He seemed to genuinely care about his answer. Baekhyun beamed at him and Chanyeol thought he looked pretty again.

"I don't know," he stammered, panicked.

The older kid continued to grin at him. "Don't worry, Chanyeol. We're going to the greatest wizarding school in all of Britain!" Baekhyun reached out held onto Chanyeol's bigger hand. "I'm sure you'll also be able to do great things!"

Baekhyun looked so certain of it that he made Chanyeol believe. Yeah, Park Chanyeol would grow up to be great and famous, too. For the first time, he smiled at Baekhyun.

They talked and laughed and laughed and talked. Then shared lunch (and dessert from the old lady with the trolley of sweets) after which Baekhyun took out his wand (10 ½ inches, ivy with unicorn hair core). He knew more than a handful of cool spells and made Chanyeol look like a loser with his lame Lumos. The taller boy didn't think the elder would be impressed with the other spell he knew so he just kept mum about it. The afternoon wore on and they kept on talking, feeling as if they knew each other for years instead of just a few hours. Chanyeol found a new friend and he feverishly wished they'd be sorted to the same house. He wanted to keep Byun Baekhyun close.

There was once again a commotion outside, five hours into the trip, and unlike Chanyeol who didn't care, Baekhyun stood up and opened the door. They both saw young students running around the train's narrow corridors in their school uniforms.

A skinny boy with sharp cheekbones and who looked to be around their age, stopped by their compartment. "Hello! Kim Jongdae here! Why aren't you in your robes yet? Hogwarts' just a blink away!" He looked from Baekhyun to Chanyeol and back again. "But I guess, there's still time. Don't tell me you both have been here all day? Come on, let's meet the others!"

Chanyeol was about ready to refuse when Baekhyun agreed eagerly and held out his hand to the frowning taller boy. With a sigh, he held on and followed the two boys out. Chanyeol watched as Baekhyun began to charm Jongdae and subsequently every other kid on the train. He looked on as the pretty boy made everyone smile or laugh and he felt something ugly grow in his chest. At one point, someone pulled Baekhyun away and drew him into a circle of first years, leaving Chanyeol alone in the middle of the corridor. It was dumb because they only met that day but Chanyeol thought that Baekhyun was supposed to only be with him. Resentment bubbled up inside. He couldn't help feeling abandoned and betrayed.

He went back to his carriage and quietly changed in to his own robes all the while thinking of ways how to get Byun Baekhyun back at his side. But how could he when everyone wanted him too? Then make them not want him. How? He looked around and his eyes fell on Baekhyun's beat up luggage. His other mastered spell suddenly seemed so handy.

Baekhyun returned to the carriage not long after, pink lips spread wide. Chanyeol listened patiently to the other boy talk a mile a minute while changing into his uniform. Making sure that Baekhyun was done, the tall boy stood and this time he was the one who pulled the elder outside back into the fray of excited adolescents. Everybody cooed at the cute Byun Baekhyun in his robes. Chanyeol coldly stared at them, waiting for just the right moment when everyon's attention was on his new friend before he spoke.

"Baekhyun, how about you turn around and show them how you look like in every angle?"

His friend chuckled. "That's silly!"

"No, it isn't. Come on just one turn," he insisted.

Baekhyun rolled his eyes but he eventually grinned and did as Chanyeol said. He performed a quick spin and everyone drew a collective gasp before they burst out laughing when the small boy's robes became covered with smelly and dreadful looking fur. There, Chanyeol thought, just like a mouse.

He saw the boy looking down confused, a deep blush of embarrassment resting on his smooth cheeks. Baekhyun's eyes found Chanyeol's and they were filled with disappointment and hurt. He then turned and ran away, followed by a concerned Jongdae.

The other students continued to laugh and congratulated Chanyeol for his prank. He couldn't take them. He returned to his carriage, feeling sick and even more awful than before. He waited for Baekhyun to come back so he could somehow make things right. But his new friend didn't come. It was Kim Jongdae who came and fetched his luggage.

Park Chanyeol gained fame and lost Byun Baekhyun just like that.

Now he was feeling the same resentment as he caught sight of Byun Baekhyun walking with a fifth year, Kim Jongin, the Gryffindor chaser. It was like he was losing him again when he was never really his to begin with. Chanyeol felt the horrible urge to take out his wand and do something stupid once more. But the last time he pulled something like that, he hurt Baekhyun. It seemed all he knew how to do was hurt him.

Jongin was tall, handsome and also popular with the students. And from the looks of things, the younger boy had a crush on the prefect. He positively glowed with it. The boy said something that made Baekhyun laugh and Chanyeol was jealous--so jealous that every one else could talk to the boy he liked except for him. He had been an idiot many times over and in his selfishness he blew his chance.

Baekhyun's eyes were curved into cheerful crescents and he was still so pretty. The two males turned a corner and Chanyeol felt terribly alone. And sad.

"Accio Byun Baekhyun," he whispered to himself, even though he knew it wouldn't work.

It was Slytherin against Gryffindor today. The Quidditch field was teeming with red and green banners in support of the two teams. Gryffindor was ahead by thirty points due in part to Slytherin's star beater not being a hundred percent on his game. Park Chanyeol wasn't feeling well (a broken heart, possibly) and felt even worse when, on his way to the field, he passed by Baekhyun wishing Kim Jongin good luck with a kiss on the cheek.

The grey skies reflected his mood, clouds thick with the promise of a heavy downpour and the wind, biting even through his emerald green robe. The other players were in a flurry around him while Chanyeol watched impassively as Kim Jongin scored for Gryffindor. There was an eruption of cheers but he ignored it. He couldn't ignore Oh Sehun though when his teammate roughly bumped his broom against his and almost knocked him off.

"Wake up! What's wrong with you?" Sehun hissed. "We're losing! Do your bloody job and stop moping around! You're Park Chanyeol and you're better than this!"

The blonde boy flew away, returning to his pursuit of the Quaffle. Chanyeol glanced at the scoreboard. Sehun was right. They were losing because of him. It wouldn't do. So what if Byun Baekhyun wouldn't speak to him again? The thought was disheartening but at least he still had Quidditch. And he was damn great at it.

The other Slytherin beater gave a look of immense relief when Chanyeol started to join in fighting off the bludgers. Roars of approval came from their camp when Chanyeol almost unseated a Gryffindor chaser. He felt the adrenaline pumping through his veins and for a moment Chanyeol pushed thoughts of Byun Baekhyun to the back of his mind.

"Park!" Sehun shouted whilst pointing to one of their own chasers who was being targeted by an angry metal ball. Chanyeol immediately went to her and swung his bat at the exact moment the bludger decided to go for the girl's head. The tall boy hit it spot on and it flew towards the opposite direction, earning him cheers.

However, no one expected for the ball to hit Kim Jongin's outstretched hand and everyone gasped when the boy leaned onto his side, clutching at his arm. They all froze as Jongin lost his balance and fell down into the field. Luckily, the Gryffindor Seeker was near the ground and was able to catch Jongin just in time. In a series of fortunate events (for Slytherin at least), Slytherin caught the Snitch and the game ended with their win.

His teammates went around Chanyeol, all hooting in glee while Jongin was rushed to the hospital wing. Chanyeol couldn't celebrate with them, not when in the corner of his eyes he just saw Byun Baekhyun leave his seat in a hurry and run towards the castle. Chanyeol disentangled himself from his teammates and flew down, abandoning his broom and sprinting after the prefect.

He passed by the Gryffindor team on his way to the hospital wing, with more than half of them glaring at him. That didn't stop him from asking them about Kim Jongin's condition, though. Much to his relief they said he was fine, just a broken arm and that once he recovered, he would kick Slytherin's-especially Chanyeol’s-butt soon. Chanyeol continued on his way, hesitating when he saw Baekhyun standing just inside the door to the infirmary, hugging himself.

He walked closer, unsure of what he would say, yet couldn't stop himself because it was Baekhyun and he'd be forever drawn to him. "Baekhyun?"

The shorter boy turned and frowned at him. "What are you doing here? Are you here to gloat?"

"No."

"No?" Baekhyun scoffed. "You didn't do it on purpose? You didn't really mean to hurt him?"

"No, I didn't! It has always been my job to direct the bludgers at the opposing team but it wasn't my intention to hurt Jongin."

"Ugh. I don't even know if I should believe you." Baekhyun paced. "It's not as if this is the first time you ever hurt anyone. You always-"

Chanyeol was offended. Baekhyun thought this bad of him? And what was this? Did Baekhyun like the other boy that much? After more than a month of not speaking to him, the thing he talks about is Chanyeol injuring Jongin? Baekhyun was so worried for the younger guy but couldn't he see that Chanyeol was perhaps hurt, too?

"-and discarding people here and there. Not caring. You never care."

At that, Chanyeol grabbed on to Baekhyun's hand to lead him away from there. When the shorter boy tried to jerk back, he stopped to pick him up and placed him over his shoulder, ignoring the startled looks of the school nurses.

"Hey, where do you think you're taking me? Put me down!" Baekhyun snarled.

Chanyeol was intent to look for a private place where they could hash everything out once and for all. He was aware that Baekhyun wasn't too happy with him right now but, too bad, he wasn't happy with the other guy, either.

Where to go? They were in the hospital wing. Surely there was somewhere here to-then he remembered. Chanyeol, still carrying a fuming Baekhyun, rushed up the stairs to the seventh floor, only pausing when he reached the Hall of Hexes. Chanyeol walked past a familiar looking wall three times after which a large wooden door appeared. Yes!

Baekhyun, who had given up trying to get Chanyeol to put him down, saw where the Slytherin boy was going to take him and began to struggle again. "You are not taking me in there, you hear me?"

But in a flash they were already inside, the door closed from any intruder. Chanyeol finally put the brunette down in the middle of the large room, amidst dozens of beds, mattresses and pillows. "Ya, Park Chanyeol what was it you were thinking about when you asked for the Room of Requirements?"

"I don't know. I just thought of somewhere we could talk!"

Baekhyun eyed him skeptically, arms on his hips. "Talk? What is there to talk about?"

Chanyeol moved closer until he was just a foot away. Baekhyun had to tilt his head up to look at him. "Well, there is the matter of Kim Jongin."

"The matter being that you tried to incapacitate him," Baekhyun accused.

"No. I told you I didn't!" He stepped even closer but Baekhyun stood his ground. "I saw you kiss him before the game started." He stared into the prefect's eyes, trying to get them to open up to him once more but they remained shuttered. "Do you like him? Do you like Kim Jongin?"

Chanyeol couldn't keep the bitterness from seeping into his words.

"So what if I do?" the other answered. "Wasn't it you who told me that I had to go out and have fun? Stop being stuck up and live a little? I'm just going by the wise words of the Slytherin sex god."

"You got it all wrong!" Chanyeol combed his hand through his hair in frustration.

"Wrong?" Baekhyun scowled at him. "Was I going too slow? Should I have put out on the first date? Should have I not made him wait?"

"No!" Chanyeol held on to Baekhyun's arms. "Yes, you were supposed to have fun! Yes, you were supposed to go out! But you were supposed to do that with me! You were supposed to kiss me! Not him. Me." There was a hush and younger male realized what he said, but it was all true. He couldn't take them back. He didn’t want to.

Baekhyun stared probingly at him, voice hoarse when he asked, "What do you mean?"

Chanyeol tried to explain except no words were coming out of his lips. So instead he sighed and made use of them the way he knew how. He sincerely hoped Baekhyun would understand this way. Chanyeol cupped the side of Baekhyun's face and promptly captured his mouth in a demanding kiss, pouring every bit of heartache and longing with each movement of his lips.

The prefect stilled in his arms and Chanyeol felt the sting of rejection. For the last time then, he thought resignedly as he gave Baekhyun one more kiss. He dropped his hands and was about to move away when he felt the shorter's boys lips soften and push against his, slotting them together with Chanyeol's.

Byun Baekhyun was kissing him back.

Chanyeol was momentarily shocked, but he soon recovered and instantly wrapped his arms around the other's waist, pulling him firmly against his chest. He could feel Baekhyun's beautiful hands run through his hair and tug him closer. With renewed confidence, Chanyeol ran his tongue across the seam of the elder's lips and they opened willingly to let him in. He angled his head to deepen the kiss, tasting heaven in the way Baekhyun welcomed his advances.

The smaller male tiptoed and pressed himself further against Chanyeol's body. Baekhyun whimpered at the contact and the sound was unbelievably hot, turning the younger man into mush. Chanyeol's hands slid down Baekhyun's back until they were curving over his buttocks, one sliding further down his thigh to lift it and wound it around Chanyeol's hip.

Their uniforms became too constrictive and stifling against the heat rising steadily between them. Chanyeol broke the kiss, breathless as he looked at Baekhyun's swollen lips and brown irises growing dark with need. He placed a hand against the throbbing pulse in the other's slender neck, fingers reaching inside the collar of Baekhyun's shirt. The hand moved lower, touching more skin and still it was met with no resistance.

Soon their robes were on the floor, ties discarded and shirts unbuttoned. Things were perhaps going too fast but then again Chanyeol had wanted this for years. He wasted no time in exploring every part of Baekhyun's body that was being bared to his gaze, fondling and worshipping them one and by one. The other was just as eager to touch Chanyeol, Baekhyun's featherlight caresses making him lose what little control he had left.

Then they were on the large bed in the middle of the room, Baekhyun's thighs spread apart and making space for Chanyeol to lie in between. Their naked limbs entwined with each other as they shared another urgent kiss. Chanyeol nuzzled that sensitive spot just below the elder's earlobes before turning more adventurous and letting his lips travel down Baekhyun's neck where he nipped and sucked and marked him for his own. Baekhyun's lips parted in a soft mewl when Chanyeol reached his chest. Chanyeol tasted and flicked the light brown nubs with his tongue, getting goosebumps all over his skin when Baekhyun breathed out his name. His wandering mouth went lower but had to pause when the smaller male clutched tightly at his shoulder, forcing him to look up.

"Was this where-Did you bring all of them here?" Baekhyun whispered unexpectedly.

Chanyeol pushed himself up until they were face to face. "No. Never." He dropped a short kiss on Baekhyun's lips. "Only you. I promise."

The other searched into his eyes and tilted his head up to kiss Chanyeol, choosing to trust him. To the younger man's surprise, Baekhyun touched and enveloped Chanyeol's length with his small hand and the taller boy could feel the rush of hot blood run through his body, making him impossibly harder. He leaned his forehead on the smaller's shoulder, feeling it shake when Baekhyun laughed breathlessly. "Pay back, Park Chanyeol."

In retaliation, he pinned Baekhyun's wrists on either side of his head, pressing them down into the mattress as he started his assault with well placed kisses and bites, laughing when he once again reduced the elder into drawn out moans and whimpers. The laughter died down, though, long minutes later, when he inserted the first digit, aided by the bottle of oil he found on the bedside table. He took his time preparing him that by the time the second and third fingers were in, Baekhyun was already a pleading mess beneath him. "Now. Chanyeol, just. I need. Now."

The brunette's small body arched as Chanyeol entered him fully. The younger was bowled over by the feel of Baekhyun hot and tight around his length. He forced himself to wait for the other to adjust to his size before he started to withdraw and even the small movement felt so amazing that Chanyeol was afraid he wouldn't last. Then, Baekhyun moved his hips with artless grace, drawing him deeper into his warmth and Chanyeol forgot everything else. He forgot about the countless people he slept with; forgot all about them completely. It was like his first time all over again, except this was infinitely more special because it was with Byun Baekhyun-that pretty boy he thought he had lost all those years ago.

"I want you so much," Chanyeol gasped against the other's soft mouth before kissing him endlessly, hips rocking into him gently, savoring the feeling of finally being one with Baekhyun. It was more than he ever dreamed of and he wanted it to last so Chanyeol ignored the clamoring of his body to move faster, settling on a slow rhythm that only succeeded in driving them both insane.

It didn't take long for Baekhyun to hook his legs around Chanyeol's waist, lean up and drag his lips from the corner of the younger's mouth to his rather large ear. He gave it a lick, making Chanyeol buck his hips violently, pushing him to the hilt inside Baekhyun. They both cried out in pleasure, both knowing that the careful strokes were not enough anymore. "Chanyeol, faster. Please," Baekhyun breathed out.

Chanyeol couldn't stop the quickening of his thrusts after that even if he tried. He held on to Baekhyun's generous hips and angled it higher, forcing drawn out moans from the other when he began hitting that spot inside him. He drove into him over and over again, panting, gasping and losing his mind as they both raced to fulfillment.

Chanyeol was so close, almost on the brink and he vaguely felt sorry because he was better than this. But being with Baekhyun had turned him back to a bumbling boy with no control over his body. He couldn't hold back much longer so he slid his hand in between them, touching Baekhyun's length once again and aiding him to find his release first.

Baekhyun reached his peak with Chanyeol's name on his lips, his body tensing and his inner muscles clamping around Chanyeol, pulling him further and further into his heat. Then all of his restraint was gone. He reared over Baekhyun, captured his lower lip in between his and came, pouring all his pent up desire and want and need into Baekhyun's embrace.

When it was over, Chanyeol kissed him-softly, hungrily, reverently. He shifted to his side and dragged the elder with him, wrapping his arm around his waist and sighing in contentment. "You're mine now, okay?"

When he didn't get any response, the Slytherin boy angled the other's face up to his and saw the troubled look in Baekhyun's eyes.

"Along with who? Along with how many?" Baekhyun asked uncertainly.

"Just you, Baekhyun." Chanyeol ran his thumb across his cheek. "Only you. I've always wanted only you." Baekhyun gazed at him in doubt and he guessed he deserved it.

"Have you forgotten how many times I've caught you sneaking around in the castle? A different boy or girl everytime, too." The prefect didn't look particularly happy with that fact.

"I know. But you have to believe that I've always liked you. It's just that I already damaged whatever relationship we had with my stupidity." Chanyeol leaned closer. "But in some twisted way, I guess I was doing it-fooling around with everyone else-because it was the only way to get you to notice me."

"Uh huh. So you made out with them not because you enjoyed it?" he asked with a raised brow.

"Okay, yes, I enjoyed it, too but it was mostly because I was so sure I'll never have you." Chanyeol pleaded with his eyes. "Baekhyun, I'm really, really sorry for everything."

Baekhyun held on to his scowl for a few moments more but then his expression cleared a little much to Chanyeol's relief. "So you're sorry for everything? Even this?"

"No!" Chanyeol immediately answered. "Never this. I'll never be sorry for this." Then he moved to kiss Baekhyun and he was glad his mouth opened readily to him.

The elder pulled back first before things got out of hand again. "So what are you sorry for?"

Chanyeol reluctantly replied, loathe to remind Baekhyun his transgressions lest the other realize that he was better off without him. "Firstly, uh, the fur incident?"

"Go on."

"I'm sorry for what I did. I regretted it every moment since. I was just so jealous-and selfish. The first moment you smiled at me, I wanted you for myself. And I thought you were already mine. I know it sounds so stupid but when I saw you becoming friends with the others so easily, I was scared and angry," Chanyeol explained, feeling foolish all over again.

Baekhyun's face was inscrutable. "Okay. What else?"

"Sorry for the virgin comment."

The shorter boy sighed. "It was true anyway."

“No. What I said was mean and awful." Chanyeol reached for Baekhyun's hand and raised his knuckles to his lips. "For the record, I'm extremely glad I was your first."

The other boy rolled his eyes at him and bumped his hand against Chanyeol's mouth in a light punch but the other just grinned and didn't let go of his hand. "Idiot. What else?"

"I'm sorry for hitting Kim Jongin with the bludger but I did not, I repeat, I did not mean to."

"Fine."

"Well, I did feel a tiny bit better when he got hit because you kissed him," Chanyeol muttered.

"You are impossible,” Baekhyun huffed. “Anything else you’re sorry for?”

What else? Chanyeol thought. His hand grazed the soft skin of Baekhyun’s arm, absentmindedly tracing the slopes of the other's shoulder before dipping them down towards the small of Baekhyun's back. "You have the most perfect ass."

Baekhyun flicked him on the nose. "And you're sorry for it?"

"Just sorry, I didn't get to touch it sooner?" Chanyeol chuckled and slung his leg over Baekhyun's drawing him tight. "I thought I was having a heart attack when you came out of the pool naked."

The Gryffindor boy's brows knotted. "Pool? Wait. You-you were the one Myrtle was talking about?"

Chanyeol ducked when Baekhyun glared at him. “In my defense, it wasn’t my idea! It was Jongdae’s!”

“What?” Baekhyun looked incredulous. “My best friend told you to spy on me while I bathe?”

“Uh, I asked him what to do so you would talk to me again and he told me to go to the prefect’s bathroom and give you like this box of Chocoballs and I knew it wouldn’t work but I still did it, what was I thinking, right? And then-” Chanyeol mumbled on.

“It would have worked.”

The younger man halted in surprise. “Huh?”

“If you had given me a box of Chocoballs, I would have given you a chance to talk to me,” Baekhyun said with a wistful smile.

“You’re that easy?” Chanyeol asked doubtfully.

“You don’t understand,” Baekhyun argued. “That divine strawberry mousse and clotted cream covered with thick chocolate. I can’t even.”

Chanyeol gazed at the blissful look in the other’s face as he described his favourite dessert and he thought Baekhyun looked exactly like that just a few minutes ago-just as beautiful and tempting when he was in the middle of orgasm and wow, maybe Chanyeol was feeling hot all over again, his body stirring to life once more.

However, they had much to discuss so with difficulty he tried to divert himself from the feeling of Baekhyun in his arms by recalling what they were talking about. Bliss. Strawberry. Chocoballs. “I still have a box of them in my room straight from Honeydukes. Does that mean you’ll forgive me if I give them to you?”

“I said I’d give you the chance to apologize and not that I’d forgive you completely.” There was a moment’s silence when Baekhyun got that faraway look again and his expression turned sad. “You know, I waited for Park Chanyeol to say he was sorry, back then when he pulled that prank on me. I waited and waited and waited, except he never did. When we reached Hogwarts and it was time for sorting, I watched from the sides and I still waited but Park Chanyeol didn’t spare me so much as a glance. He even looked quite relieved when he got into Slytherin and not at the same house as the ‘mouse boy’.”

“I was mad and hurt yet I couldn’t just give up waiting because I remembered that boy in the train and he was one of the nicest boys with the nicest smile I’ve ever seen. I thought perhaps he was just shy and so I continued to wait. I guess I was still waiting years later because I found myself thinking of excuses as to why Park Chanyeol still wasn’t approaching me. Then I figured maybe he wasn’t only shy but perhaps he also needed prodding.”

“I was aware I was going beyond what a normal Prefect would do but I was slightly getting desperate. Five years, can you imagine? Park Chanyeol was still not saying his apologies.” Baekhyun tenderly brushed Chanyeol’s bangs away from his forehead so he could see his eyes better. “I caught even his slightest misdeeds, docked points here and there, gave him every chance to speak to me but alas, he never took any of them. But I still liked him too much to give up.”

Chanyeol was speechless. Baekhyun had liked him, too?

“You look so surprised,” Baekhyun said, poking on Chanyeol’s chin.

“How can you even like me? I don’t even like myself that much,” he confessed.

“I’m not sure,” Baekhyun said truthfully. ”Park Chanyeol’s definitely a headache, he’s obnoxious and he always make me so mad but when I look at him I remember that boy who let me share his carriage with. He was special to me because I knew he was supposed to be my best friend.”

“I thought that, too.” Chanyeol felt regret wash over him. “I was supposed to be with you and you were supposed to be with me, but I was an idiot.”

Baekhyun nodded. “Yes, Park Chanyeol was a giant idiot. One night, seven years after he told me he liked my name, I caught him again in another’s embrace and told me no one will ever want me. “

“You shouldn’t have believed me. That wasn’t true.”  Chanyeol drew him close and kissed his temple.

“I know. It still hurt, though.”

“You’re the only one I’ve truly ever wanted, do you know? But I was a coward because I’d rather win every one else over than be rejected by you. But if you give me a chance I’d show you I’m still that boy you were meant to be with, Baekhyun,” Chanyeol said. “Wiser this time. Please.”

“I’ve only ever wanted you as well.” Baekhyun pressed closer. “I suppose I was destined to be as big an idiot as you are. I’m still here aren’t I?”

“Thank you,” Chanyeol said against the other’s lips.

“You still have to give me chocoballs, though,” Baekhyun whispered. “Or the deal is off.”

Chanyeol shook with laughter. He was so damned lucky.

“And for dragging me in here, twenty points off Slytherin.” The prefect gestured to the pillows and mattresses filling the room. “You can deny it all you want but it’s obvious what’s always on your mind.”

“Just with you now,” Chanyeol promised fervently. “Only with you.”

Park Chanyeol was drafted for the English National Quidditch team and was presented a giant bludger shaped cake his last night in Hogwarts. The house party was still on full blast but the star of the occasion was nowhere in sight.

The taller boy was lurking in the shadows, being eyed scornfully by the Fat Lady.  He didn’t mind though. He was too drunk with happiness to care. Chanyeol waited a few seconds more and then there were the footsteps he was waiting for.

“Seriously, Park Chanyeol. Seriously?” Baekhyun said when he felt the taller man’s arms wrap around him from behind.

“You’ll never ever get rid of me,” Chanyeol replied smugly. “Too bad, as of today, you’re no longer a prefect.”

“Not according to my watch. 11:58PM.” The shorter boy smirked. “Fifteen points off for manhandling a prefect. And oh,” Baekhyun turned in his arms and placed a soft kiss on his lips. “Congratulations, love.”

Byun Baekhyun’s kisses were definitely worth more than all the points in the world.
