Yellow Brick Road was one of the first albums I ever listened to while writing. Granted, that was when I was 12, and it necessitated me getting up to flip the record. Genesis was easier to write to, because the computer HAD A CD PLAYER INSIDE OF IT!!!1 That was seriously exciting when I was a kid. Actually CDs were exciting too, although I mostly bought tapes because they were cheaper.

This is one of my most favorite songs ever. Someday, I need to remember to make enough money to bring my mother to an Elton John concert.

Elton John - Funeral For a Friend / Love Lies Bleeding

Confession: Sometimes I look up live Elton John videos on YouTube just to see what he was wearing.

Confession2: There's this band named Life...house... Life...boat... I don't know. Life something stupid. Anyway, they used the line "Love lies bleeding in my hands". I was all, "You know, that might even be an older line from a song even older than Love Lies Bleeding, but I doubt it. And even so, you are not Elton John or Bernie Taupin." The Lifewhatever band didn't hear or care. Probably because car radios are a one-way listening device. I wouldn't have minded if the song didn't sound like every single other alt-rock song from the late 90's/ early 2000's. Bleh.

Also, hello new people on my f-list!
