mexico
I am in Mexico and stand to return on the 16th. First the extra good stuff....
The weather is fantastic. Fantastic if you like heat and humididty, which I do. The ocean is the perfect tempטrature. The food is fantastic, the people are mostly friendly and warm. I made a new friend from the states and she lives in Chicago, yet another reason to visit there. I got a surfing lesson and did really well! I totally caught a wave, dude. My aunt´s house is awesome, really cozy and beautiful, but not at all pretentious or super-fancy or anything. There are iguanas and geckos all over the place and a mango tree in the yard.
That´s the stuff that cannot be denied as ¨good.¨ Now for the more adventury stuff.
Yesterday I went surfing at a ¨fast left point break¨ and got ¨raked.¨ For those of you who aren´t Patrick Swayze, that means I basically got traumatized by swallowing a bunch of sea water, tossed and scraped onto rocks, and topped it off by getting sea urchin spines jammed into no fewer than 6 toes. When I got out, blood was running down my leg from the hamburger that is my right shin. What fun.
But that´s not all, folks! There are fucking manowar jellies out here too! My pal Link got hit last night! These guys are no joke, they hurt like a motherfucker, make you sick to your stomach and paralyze your muscles, and can send you into what I know I won´t spell right, anaphalactic shock. The theory is they are here because of a storm off the coast and to the south. Whatever.
Our neighbors got the scorpion treatment. Only a little sting...
There´s this fucking rooster that crows from 4am till like 10am, right outside my window. Oy Vey. But I bought a slingshot at Mi Entiendita, so that should be good...however, rumor has it that folken around here treasure their roosters more than their dogs. Which I can believe.
Everyone staying at the house is in AA. That should speak for itself.
Well, that is my dispatch for now. Vive phantasmas!!!!!
