[Arashi Picspam] Arashi no Shukudaikun episode 95

Aug 06, 2008 00:43

I'm updating freakishly often these days! I seem to be in a writing mood.

And since I was a good girl today and worked on my university papers, I wrote a re-cap of AnS #95 after I watched it tonight, complete with screencaps. ^-^

Have fun!

OK, the premise of this AnS episode - shoot an episode in the same amount of time it later on takes on screen - is already amazing. Putting Aiba in charge of it? Is pure GENIUS.

Especially when he brings back old corners that you just know HE wanted to do on a show again.

And when, apparently, a large part of what Aiba deems as "entertaining" consists of "making Sho do things he's bad at".

Oh, Aiba. XD

The show starts out with ...well, it REALLY started out with a mess, really, but the very first corner of the show is Sho cooking.

E-except that it isn't really SHO cooking, it's Jun cooking and Sho adding ingredients.

Which, considering the mess that he makes just doing that, is a very wise decision on Jun's part. XD

Observe:

This is Sho accidentally up-ending the spice bowl with his knife. That is already the second bowl he's up-ended. And his cutting already looked messy without the scattered-around spices. XD

This is Sho about to put the rice into the pan - with his fingers.

I'm not sure what Ogura-san says there, but it sounds a lot like protest - I'd say "naturally", but considering the things that Sho does to the food later on, I'm not really sure what they're getting excited about here.
Anyway, but it's still Sho being very unprofessional and putting his fingers into the food. XD (He then proceeds to lick the rest of the rice grains off his fingers when he's finished with that.)

This is not, as one might think, the food going into Sho's mouth - it's the food coming out of Sho's mouth, because it was so hot. A lot landed on the spoon, to be put into Sho's mouth again, but some of it also landed on the plate again... yes, after it had been in Sho's mouth.

This is Jun and Ogu-san eating from the very same plate and spoon. Yes - the plate and spoon that Sho spit food on. (But of course, it's totally possible that the pieces that had been in Sho's mouth before and which landed back on the plate then went down Ohno's throat, since he helped himself to the chahan twice, which greatly satisfied me to see.)

Next, we have Nino hypnotizing Sho. Hypnotizing sounds like fun, doesn't it?

Well, it does - until you see the above screencaps, and realize that hypnotizing means that Nino is whispering suggestions into a helpless victim's ear.

(The first screencap was, by the way, chosen as much for the funny angle Nino's arm has as for the whispering. Gotta love Nino's freaky arms.)

Since Nino's still a true member of Arashi, no whispered suggestions could ever be made without cuddling. (Random note: If you watch the MMA episode where Ohno and Nino do a romantic party at the beach for the old couple, you'll see Ohno using the same tactic on Nino. And it works just as well, even without the hypnotizing. XD)

Luckily, Nino only makes Sho talk like a girl and do some gymnastics.

Interesting thing: Sho's voice can actually get higher when it's unintentional (read: when he's screeching in embarrassment). Like this, he sounds like Tony Curtis in that old transvestite film that I can't remember the title of.

(Again, random note: When Nino pats Sho on the back, you can totally hear the hollow sound it makes in his lungs. XD Yes, I'm easily amused.)

As you can see, Sho's attempt at gymnastics makes Aiba draw back in fear and Jun laugh in delight.

Sho's own commentary on it? - A loud and repeated "SCARY!". XD

Jun announces the next segment - the A no Arashi - and in the background, you can clearly hear Nino and Sho talking and laughing and totally ignoring him. XD

FINALLY Aiba is allowed to wear his beloved A no Arashi coat and do his beloved A no Arashi posture again!

I have to confess, I don't really understand what the experiments are supposed to be about (why seaweed, of all things?), but the second leads to something edible, so I approve of it. XD

It looks a bit like spinach, but it's seaweed with water, as Sho notes.

They all partake in the seaweed, thanks to Aiba, and he, Sho and Ohno even eat some with rice later on, which makes me happy. ^-^

Random screencap:

This made me laugh, because Aiba says something and Sho starts to laugh - and then Ohno starts to laugh, like, five seconds later, as if his brain needed that much time to process Aiba's words. XD

(Which is actually something that happens to me when I'm really tired, so, while it's still funny, please lay down and sleep, Oh-chan.)

Next, Sho goes to the toilet during a commercial break, which makes Nino and Aiba panic, as it messes up Aiba's precious schedule, and which makes me snicker.

It leads to Aiba slapping Sho with the notes-thingie he has, on both of the parts that might have committed the offense (if you catch my drift). XD No screencaps, sadly, since it happened so fast.

Nino hits Aiba with the cart - revenge for slapping his second property Sho? Nino being Nino? Who knows - and Jun looks Not Amused. But he looked somewhat like that before Nino hit Aiba too, so I think it might be general annoyance at Nino being allowed to show off when he isn't.

Watch him walk cooly past Aiba and stand by the table with his arms crossed. Very hardcore, Matsumoto. XD

Nino is doing paper- and card-tricks, and I can't say for sure, of course, but I think this is the most awake Ohno looked throughout the whole episode.

At the same time, Sho is sent to the background to draw. *snickers*

This is Sho's drawing. I kinda love Sho's box-people. XD

...And it all ends with Aiba, Sho, Jun and Nino waving like good little idols, Ohno cracking up and Ogu-san making a face. XD

Random notes:

- I really loved this episode, but I can totally understand if they don't repeat it too often. I was kind of breathless at the end there, because it was so MUCH in such a short time; and Aiba doesn't really help this with his natural nervous energy... (Aiba isn't nervous, per se, but I feel that he's got the same kind of nervous feeling that a filly has, constantly in movement.)

- Ohno ate a lot! Which strengthens my belief that - unlike what some of the fandom seems to think - he has no eating disorder, but simply no time to eat properly. (Jun, I think it's time you started to show up on the Maou set.)

- Nino, on the other hand, is a totally different matter. He's naturally thin and petite, yes, but the way he so often manages to wriggle out of even tasting stuff on their shows, is rather worrisome, I think. >.<” Even when he tastes the seaweed here (which is the only thing he eats), it's really noticeable that he doesn't eat so much as take a very tiny amount between his teeth. I doubt there was even enough for him to swallow.
Not good, Nino. Seriously, seaweed has next to no calories, IT WILL NOT KILL YOU. >.<””

- Did anyone else think that Sho's clothes looked like pajamas? And was this Jun's tribute to Sailor Moon, or something?

- Times that I noticed Ohno speaking: 7.
Two sentences (one of his own volition, even!) and five one word responses to things.

And the poor thing still looks so absolutely tired... :(

I think they should make a new corner in any of their programs, called “Sleeping Leader”. They could do various experiments around Ohno sleeping! Like “Which method gets Leader to sleep most quickly?” or “When Leader sleeps, what kind of noises will make him twitch?” or even something that Aiba would surely like: “Is it true that when you hold a sleeping person's hand in warm water, he will pee his pants?” ...OK, maybe not the last one. But as long as it has Ohno sleeping, I don't really care what they do. And hey, they'd even have the added benefit of being able to re-use that segment whenever someone else needed sleep too! ^___^
