First off, let me just say that I am sorry that I haven't updated earlier but thing have been quite busy for me and the reason why is that I have accepted an apprentice position with the US Forestry Dept. That means that in a little under a month I will have to head down to Land Between The Lakes in Kentucky to begin work. They provide housing and a living stipend. This is just the thing I need because it is a step in getting a job at some park or even museum. From what I have been trying to figure out, I believe the ride is 7 to 8 hours to get there. But I don't mind that. Plus there are some added bonuses such as: it's farther south so less of the extremely cold and snowy winters (I'm not going to miss the ice, but maybe the snow a little.), warmer temperatures with less humidity, and it has tons of trees around considering its a federal forest. However I am going to miss my family and friends since there will be long stretches between visits. I think that is going to be the hardest part for me, because I am so close with my family and friends. I knew it wouldn't be easy but I didn't realize that it would hit me so hard on how much I will miss seeing everyone. I have already begun to miss everyone from college. I seem to have this great urge to walk across the UNI campus from Bartlett to Shull to see the Annie and Neil, or drive over to the house and visit with everyone there. But that isn't possibly for me. I guess nonething in this world was really accomplished without fear being in the shadows.
