Another one of my cousins has been diagnosed with cancer. This time, it's non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. They found a small mass on his ribs and his sister says it's a high grade B cell lymphoma. So, most of you know that I'm in a tailspin over Malcolm's vet visit this morning. The vet was sympathetic, but not encouraging. A tactile examination shows that the lumps have quickly spread over much of his body and the lymph nodes at his throat and "armpits" are swollen. It's been a while, for sure. But I feel I need to lend my support to a couple of friends who have recently lost their fathers. Losing your father is a hard thing, to be sure. I have a recurring dream that pops up every few months or so. The constant in the dream is a rather run-down, clapboard house, shingled with green shakes and propped up on stilts.
