CHICAGO - A 16-year-old boy was slain in his Logan Square home early Wednesday on the Northwest Side, authorities said.
Jose Callabero, of the 2700 block of North Fairfield Avenue, was fatally shot in his home and was pronounced dead at the scene, said the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office. An autopsy is scheduled for later Wednesday.
Callabero was shot in the head about 3:45 a.m., police said.
Police remained at the scene at 5:15 a.m. and a motive was not immediately known, Shakespeare District police said.
Grand Central Area detectives are conducting a homicide investigation, but nobody is in custody Wednesday morning.
