Doris Lessing wins the Nobel Prize for Literature. . .

Her reaction...   "Oh Christ.  It's  been going on for thirty years.  One can get more excited.  Right.  I'm sure you'd like some uplifting remarks of some kind."  (More on her reaction here.)  From the video, it looks as though she was using a good bit of restraint in not telling the reporters to bugger off and let her put her feet up and have a cup of tea.

Not only is she the oldest person to be given the prize, It's already being pointed out that this is the first time the Nobel Prize for Literature has been given to an author who was Guest of Honor at Worldcon.
