It's been a long time I penned something.
I watched the movie Laila Majnu today, an age-old story beautifully repackaged by Sajid Ali and Imtiaz Ali. The way they have presented it is truly exceptional.
The kind of love depicted in the movie is extraordinarily rare-transcending physical intimacy and reaching a deeper emotional connection. Remarkably, there are no hugging or kissing scenes, yet the emotions conveyed through the eyes of the two protagonists are absolutely breathtaking. Love, as shown here, transcends everything.
When two people experience such profound love, it’s rare for them to unite in this lifetime; often, their paths simply cross without convergence.
Imtiaz Ali’s earlier work, Tamasha, also explored the essence of love between two protagonists.
True love, as he portrays, is about accepting the other person as they are-without pretense or drama. It is pure, unrestrained, and unconcerned with societal judgments, making it truly transcendental.
I believe there are countless films worldwide that delve into this kind of love. I hope to discover and be deeply moved by more of them in the future!
