I'm obviously someone who feels one hundred percent better in myself when the summer comes around. This afternoon, when I took my specialist art group for their session, I thought, you know what, the weather hasn't been this good all year. Why not make the most of it? So, instead of studying two point perspective, I took them out into the school grounds, which are extensive and simply lovely. We sat and made observational studies of the flowers and trees.
Really, we should do things like that more often. Getting them outside in the sun and finding simple enjoyment in drawing was so rewarding. Particularly as they begin their exams on Monday and have been doing practice papers one after the other. Sonia has her main block of exams next week, too. She isn't all that stressed, Mum and I will be doing that for her.
