Modest Mouse with special guest Mason Jennings.
IMU Mainroom Iowa City, Iowa

The Modest Mouse Concert was not as good as the Chicago show. However, Modest Mouse played outstandingly well and seemed thrilled to be in Iowa. The band started the show with Dramamine..which is the only song that I was dying to hear live. I screamed out with joy when I realized what song it was! Highlights of the show were the fact that they played Dramamine (very very well in fact), Interstate 8, The Fruit that Ate itself, Cowboy Dan, and Summer. Lowlights were the crowd (they were lame-o), the overabundance of songs from "Good News for People who Love Bad News," and the short set. I wish they would have played "Talking Shit about a Pretty Sunset."

Mason Jennings opened for Modest Mouse. He did a pretty Good job musically. Mason's voice was perfect and he was amazing with his acustic guitar. However, Mason had a little bit of attitude and he seemed to be trying to make his Minnesota folk music a rock star affair, I didn't like this at all and even found myself nodding my head in shame. Highlights: Mason played quite a few songs off of the first album! Lowlights: His attitude and not very good set list. I wish he would have played "the light."
