I've had a really good couple of days.
- Wednesday
Went to an interview at Gardendale Elementary. I liked the school a lot and the vice principal that interviewed me was really nice. Bad thing is, they won't be able to tell me if I got the job until 2 weeks from now because both the principal and vice principal are going on vacation. They don't know what position the job will be, they just know they're going to need one more teacher due to increased enrollment.

I recieved 2, YES TWO calls, for interviews.
The first one that called was Meadow View, it's the same distance away from Birmingham has Gardendale, excep it's in the opposite direction on 65. I'm excited about that one, it's a primary school (k-3) and a 1st grade position.
The second school that called was VALLEY!!!! Valley is 7 minutes away from the apartment complex that I really want to move to, it's right by the Galleria in Birmingham. I REALLY REALLY REALLY hope I get that job, but I'm just happy to have 3 interviews. I'm hoping I can land one of these three jobs.
I would honestly be happy at any of the schools. Valley I feel like is a much higher caliber school. Valley and Meadow View are both in Shelby county and Shelby county schools generally have a better reputation. Better test scores, better students, etc etc. But it's hard to generalize about schools.
Anyway, I just feel relieved. I had a feeling that once I got one, I'd get more, but man that was a pretty sad dry spell there for a while.
I'm excited for my friend Kim. She got a job in the Homewood school system. She doesn't know what school or position, but there are only 3 schools in the system. She was like me a couple of weeks ago, really desperate and feeling really frustrated.
I'm glad things are finally looking up. Now I can somewhat enjoy my summer.
