In 10 hours, my plane will hopefully be off the ground, headed north to Atlanta, so I can see my best friend, Sam, and then head to California for West Coast Camp. For all of you who have asked for my address out there, here it is, like I promised:
Nikki Green/WOL Camp
Lassen Pines Conference Center
8071 Mineral Road
Viola, CA 96088
Also, one of my friends, Chuck Anderson, is at officer candidate school in Virginia, and if you guys are in the letter-writing mood, I'm sure he would appreciate a note from any of you (yes, even if you don't know him). If you do send him a letter, please be sure to address it exactly as I have it written out here, the format of the address is very important.
Candidate Anderson, Charles R.
Echo Company, 3rd Platoon
Officer Candidates School
2189 Elrod Avenue
Quantico, Virginia 22134-5033
If you still have time to read this, and you really care to, after writing all those letters to forlorn people out in California and Virginia, then good for you, I may even send you about 6 packs of pop rocks and a graduation card for your effort!
I found my drivers license AND my passport; they were together, surprisesurprise. Thanks to all of you who prayed about that! I still don't have my wallet, I think I lost it at camp sometime in the middle of last week, and my luck, a camper picked it up and it's gone forever. I really need to call the bank in the morning and get my check card thing cancelled, so if some primary camper did get ahold of it, they're not going on some spending spree with all 13 of my dollars. Or that their parents aren't, either. That would be bad. I would be poor...er.
I went out to Camp Gilead again tonight, this time dragging my good friend, Marie Kirby, along with me. I know, I know, I just can't stay away. I actually went out to get a bunch of peoples' addresses before I leave, and pick up my binder of guitar tabs that I left in the counselor's lounge - neither of which I accomplished. I got Dan Board's address in China, and the C.L. was locked, (don't ever make Joy mad, that's what you get) so I finally found David to unlock it, and my binder wasn't in there. surprisesurprise. In addition to NOT getting the two things I mainly went for, I also left my bible and notebook in the Simpson's apartment. And they go to bed early. So Joel is bringing them back to Lakeland really early tomorrow morning. For a small fee, of course... you can't get over here for free, you know. I love my cousins.
Have you sent that letter, yet? Or, what's that you say, you have a package for me? Perhaps a box that I sent you that you never sent back?? *coughJoshcough*
Anyway, Marie and I had a grand ole time out there tonight. At least, I did. And I hope Marie did, too. We got to judge the cabin makeovers. We went to just about the longest chapel service I've ever had to sit through. Mike and I talked through it. We were not the best example for the campers. Laura invited us to go to the kitchen-workers' party at the Simpsons, where I left my bible and notebook. We went back to watch the video for the week, which I really enjoyed... Tara, you guys did a great job on it! Then, we sat through the kids praise and worship type thing, which Mike and I talked all the way through again.
Larry said that we should wait to leave until he got out of his cabin, so that we could all hang out. He took forever. I called him to see if he was still coming. He was waiting for Jon to finish cleaning the BOB. Jon was standing there, talking to us. Jon took us to their cabin to play mafia, so that we would not be as bored. We left with Larry, after putting up with their campers for about 15 minutes. They were annoying. um... yeah. We talked to Joel for awhile, then everyone started coming out of their cabins. Theresa and Cristi gave us some delicious cake they had just made for their campers, and then decided that they weren't worth it, so they brought it to us. (hoorah for bad campers) Larry called, but then when I told him who was with me, he said he'd call me back later. Then we left, because it was getting super-late.
When I got home, my mom talked to me for a long time. I went to go look for my passport, which I found. Then I called Larry, because I couldn't remember if he said that he was going to call back, or if he wanted me to call him back later. Sad to say, I didn't realize it was nearly 2am, and I definitely woke him up. So if you're reading this, Larry, I'm sorry. Really, really sorry.
And that's it. I'm sorry this is super-long, I just wanted to write for a while and not go to bed. I'm leaving my house around 9:30 tomorrow morning and going to Amber's wedding shower. Then I'm going to Tampa and flying out to California camp for 2 weeks. Sometimes I can sneak on the computer on the weekends, but that's rare, so we'll see. I doubt I'll be on for a while, at least until after August 1st. But, of course, you guys can always write, and I'll even try to write some of you while I'm out there. Except I may be holding a certain number of packs of pop rocks hostage in exchange for a letter. My phone is always on, even during my filming sessions and paintball, you guys can call anytime. (863/838.5699)
Anyway, I'll see you guys later, and talk to you in a few weeks, after I get back from Redding and Matt's wedding in N.Syracuse.
Oh, and I was just kidding about the box and the pop rocks, Josh. You'll get those anyways. Eventually.
