"Gosh Nikki, you never were one for sleeping were ya?" Boy, Scott hit that nail on the head. I got home from a movie at 10:30, and just played guitar for awhile, and then came upstairs and ended up talking to Alan and catching up on the past week for about 4 hours. Unbelievable.
This week was amazing. Thanks to all of you who prayed for me and the rest of the Camp Gilead staff. My campers were great... it was awesome to get to go to SC devos in the morning, hear everyone talking about the couple kids that they were having problems with, and then be able to honestly say that my girls were getting along well, and that I wasn't having problems with them. What a blessing, especially during middle school week! If any of you ladies are reading this, "Hi." and "Thank you!" :)
I finally got to know all of the other counselors, which was a real treat. I love those guys. Frosty and Christina weren't out there last week, but the Santos girls were, and that was wonderful. I am going out again this next week to work again, and possibly the following week, as well, although if I do that, I will have to leave Thursday night or Friday morning in order to do my laundry and hop on a plane to California on Saturday morning.
Joel, Laura and I lead praise and worship every night this week, and twice on Wednesday and Friday. I sort of felt bad about that, because they had a "praise band" already set up that did that very thing, but here I was coming in my first day there and they had to stop doing it, and the three of us lead it instead. I guess it was okay, and I'm hearing from lots of people that it was really encouraging and uplifting, and a good time of worship to God, which is exactly what we were aiming for it to be. I'm going to miss doing that this next week, seeing as it's primary week and we won't be doing stuff like that. Maybe we can get together in the counselors' lounge every once in a while and do a mini praise and worship/prayer service.
Aunt Missy is speaking next week, I am terribly excited.
Today after everyone left camp, the entire Green family came out to camp and we had a big party-thing. I slept for a couple of hours in Joel's room, and then once they finally found me, I changed and took a jetski for a spin, first by myself, then with Joel. We flipped it, and then proceeded to sink it. Such fun. Matt ran over all the little kids with the tubes on the boat, and Stephen got a terrible rope burn. Good times.
We got home around 5:30, and I got ready to go, searched for my wallet with no luck, and then headed out to Taco Bell to meet the group. It was mostly Camp Gilead people, with a few misc. people thrown in here and there. Larry called me at 6:46 to let me know that we were meeting at 6:45 at Taco Bell. Hey, at least he remembered to call me, finally. No one else does.
We went to see War of the Worlds. It was good, not all I thought it was going to be, but it was good. I tend to watch a movie more for the filming, shots, and production end of it, and all that was great. The ending - I thought - was terrible. Correct me if I'm wrong. We had fun. While we were at Taco Bell, Cody called me, and I got to talk to him, Sam, Josh and Hailey, finally! That was great.
Oh, and btw, I got a new guitar.
And Josh S. is getting married this weekend.
And that's it, for now. I'm tired, it's 4am, and I need to get to bed.
Goodnight, all.
