Overdosed

There was a brilliant, violet light oscillating in the sky tonight, for a duration of about thirty minutes, located just beneath Cassie-Ohhhhhh. We sat on the dewey grass, enjoying the contrast from what was a scorching and thick, humid Minnesota summer's day only a handful of hours before, our palms pressed against the giving earth, ready for the time the light would extinguish. Our mouths opened and closed, asking for something left unsaid, and we turned into seeds on the breeze. There was something about the way the waves hit the shore that seemed so familiar. The pacific stole my memory, curling over it with care, and taking it back to the place it came from.

I painted the better part of my childhood desk today. It's coming with us to our apartment in St. Paul. A few more truck trips (thanks to our friend Mike B) and we'll have everything there except for the couch-things. Two kittens, our own place (and my first apartment) in a decent neighborhood, study screenings on the horizon. Life is good, and I am thankful.
