This is a great story I overheard while at work:
Amanda has a cute little boy. One evening, while they were watching a sitcom revolving around two gay guys getting married, the boy wandered in. Usually they don't let him watch sitcoms because of some random weird stuff they might contain, but since it was just a wedding, they didn't change the channel. Amanda assured her husband that, if he paid attention at all, it would just be a wedding to him. The boy wandered in and out several times while playing.
The next day, he was having fun playing with purfume. He wanted to smell good. He also didn't realize that there was a difference between men's cologne and women's perfume. He doused himself, his clothes, and the carpet in his mother's perfume. Later that afternoon, Amanda had to go out. Since the boy is always losing one glove or mitten, there weren't any pairs of his left in the drawer of gloves. So she gave him a pair of his sister's gloves, saying they were his.
He liked the pink gloves so much that wore them to diner. While he still smelled like a woman's pefume shop.
Then, in the middle of dinner, he looked up at his mom (while still wearing the pink gloves and smelling like a perfume shop): "You know mom, last night, on that show when the two guys got married? That was really cool."
After their son had left, the husband turned to Amanda: "Never again. No more evening tv. NO more."

Today work was actually pretty fun. We had our Iowa Writer Signing, as well as a special educator day and it being the friends of the library bookfair. Needless to say, it was busy. But when it wasn't, I got to meet and chat with
sarah_prineas, author of The Magic Thief. (Links posted on
wildelover's journal.) It was good to finally meet her, since my roommate had been friends with her for a while and had told me a lot about her. She's really nice and fun to talk to. We got to talk about our Nanos and other current projects, fads in books, the Twilight phenomenon...pretty much anything.
I was going to be in the parade walking with 89.1 The Spirit, but after work I was just too tired and cold and hungry to go. I left a message with Big Chris so he wouldn't be worried that we had gotten lost and did a little nanoing. Must turn in soon; the rite of acceptance is tomorrow. That means I have to be at church 15 minutes early and stare blankly at the piece of paper telling me what to do. At least my responces are easy. I really can't screw up, faith and yes, can I? (I also have a card to read from, incase I get nervous.)
Weird fact of the day:
There is a nerve in your middle ear that controls taste. If people have had multiple ear infections and this nerve has becomed damaged, they are more likely to become obese.
