First of all...
RIP Mike Awesome
I can't believe the guy supposedly committed suicide by hanging himself. I guess he couldn't stand life without the high of hearing the crowds cheer or boo for him in a wrestling match.
That really gets to me. More people fail than succeed, and those that succeed sometimes can't cope with life after a form of entertainment, whether it be wrestling, music, TV and movies...
How can a man hang himself when he was going so well post wrestling? I heard he was doing successful in real estate.

If I end up taking this road to wrestling, even after all of the stuff that's happened, I don't want to ever get to the point where I need the crowd's attention to live. Seriously, someone needs to do some kind of psychological analysis on what kind of personality types get into the entertainment field. The general assumption is that people that thrive on attention are the ones that enter this world. I bet we'd find some surprises though.
When I was a child, I wanted to feel that high of popularity with others. It stayed with me even to today, but it's waned from the years of childhood. When I was younger, I thought that was the true test of being a man. Now I see that the test for being a man can stand independently without crutches controlling them. Crutches can help you get through life, but when you become dependent on them, that's when you fall.
Not sure where I'm headed, but I know I'll be fine.

So, I was watching some real early ECW. I saw Raven's earlier ECW again, and while I am and will always be a fan of the man, seeing it now is different from seeing it as a child or teenager.
When I was younger, he was the man. Now, I see that he seemed to say the same thing all the time.
"I thrive on your pain, suffering, anguish..."
He seemed to always say these things. Also, he seemed strung out or high on something in every promo back then. I guess true ECW is the proverbial "you had to be there" case.
What made Raven's career is that he knew exactly how to speak to the young people of the time and back it up with toughness.
I didn't get that excitement that I used to as a teen watching him now. Strange thing is though, Raven's body of ECW work is like art. Some things seen are ageless, others seem like they're just left in that time.
I hope he does start teaching students. The man could turn out some good wrestlers. I just hope that people see the intangibles behind the artwork and not try to create Raven clone after Raven clone. A blueprint is a plan, but it's the intangibles of personal expression and originality that makes the plan into a masterpiece.

UGH! D Wade down! I think Shaq will step up and get the team in the playoffs. They're going to need him and Wade to have a shot at winning though. I don't know if they need to do a trade at the deadline, but they'll be fine regardless.
If LA Lakers get Jason Kidd, they'll be in the Finals this year or next. I'm amazed at the development of Andrew Bynum. He's gonna be awesome for them in the years to come.

Until next time!
