Trouble...With a Capital T and that Rhymes with C and that Stands for Chicken....

Ok, so, I'm kinda pissed off right now. Maybe I'm overreacting...let's see what people think.

So, since moving to LA, I've been vegetarian. I'm not doing it for ideological reasons or anything, it's just something I've been curious about for a while so I decided to try it out, but it's still something I'm doing all the way. I haven't eaten meat since the night before I officially moved into my apartment and it's pretty cool. I really like it.

Anyway, my roommate is having this dinner party which I really didn't want to go to, but couldn't find a good way to say no, so I'm going. My roommate not only knows that I'm vegetarian, but I mentioned it again when we were talking about menu, and she planned to make things that I'd be able to eat, which was nice.

One thing she's making is this roasted pepper and orange soup, which she's made before and says is super delicious. So, she made that tonight and had me try some and it was delicious and I told her so and then she went to bed and I went to watch The Office on TiVo (this is a very detailed story). Then, I got a little hungry so I went to make myself a piece of toast and and as I was throwing away a paper towel, I noticed an empty container of chicken broth in the trash, so I looked up the recipe she used, and, sure enough, it calls for chicken broth. And she used it. And still pretended like the soup was vegetarian.

Now, maybe she's just completely oblivious to the fact that chicken is actually meat, or maybe she didn't think it would count if it was only the broth, but still, she should have at least let me know. I just feel really deceived and it's pretty shitty. I would be happy to only eat vegetables and bread if that's all she was serving that was vegetarian, I don't care, I just don't want to be tricked into doing something that I'm actively trying to avoid.

Anyway, am I out of line here? And what do I do tomorrow at dinner?

WHY DOES SHE SUCK SO MUCH?
