Name: Theresa Quinn
Age: 21
Birthdate: March 5
Occupation: College Student, majoring in History and Photography

Personal History: Theresa has been a part of the foster care system for as long as she can remember. She alternates between figuring her mother is dead, a prostitute, or a druggie. She believes her father is in jail, though she has no evidence for that, either. In all honesty, she doesn’t know anything about her parents and doesn’t actually think about them that much. She doesn’t see the point. She spent all of the time up till she was eighteen being passed around through group and foster homes, never staying for long in any one place. She wasn’t a difficult child, largely because she hadn’t known any different life, but something always came up and so she was passed along.

Consequently, she has learned not to get too attached to anyone. Part of that came because she was never in one school for long, so she had to learn to fend for herself. It’s never easy to be the new kid. The rest came because the adults in her life were always changing, and eventually she figured out that the only person she could really rely on was herself. That wasn’t anyone’s fault; it was just the way it was. She hasn’t really ever had a close friend, but she’s all right with that, since she hasn’t had the time.

When she turned eighteen and graduated from high school, she was out of the system and on her own, and she was all right with that, too. It wasn’t easy living on her own, but she gritted her teeth and told herself she’d get through it. She moved to LA and started attending college there. She wanted to major in history and started to work toward that. Then, one semester, on a whim, she took a photography class and found she really enjoyed it. It was a way to record the world, and for some reason that seemed terribly important.

There’s one thing that has remained constant in her life, and that’s the dreams. She once told her caseworker about them and her caseworker figured they were just a product of her non-consistent upbringing and dismissed them. Theresa hasn’t brought them up since, but she’s still having them, and they’re getting worse. Now, she’s sure that every night she gets shot and dies, with the taste of old wine on the back of her throat.

Personality: Theresa has always been a loner. She relies on herself and because of this she knows exactly what she can and cannot do. Or at least she thinks she thinks she does. Her opinion of herself and her abilities is a bit higher than it should be, though she thinks it is justified, since she has managed to be so self-sufficient for most of her life.

Along with this, Theresa has a hard time trusting people. She has no problem interacting with them, but she doesn’t like to take the effort to really get to know anyone. She will happily use people to her advantage if she needs to, but that’s all.

She also has something of a temper. She usually keeps it in check, but it’s there. She holds grudges and she likes to win. She doesn’t easily forget things. She thinks that remembering things is important. She likes history, and one of the few things that she honestly believes is that people will repeat history if they don’t know about it.

Overall, Theresa is a collected individual who knows what she wants and works hard to get it. She doesn’t trust easily and she relies on herself, but she also knows that--at least on some level--people are actually important.
