what is it with people lately?
Okay, I was raised with manners. Apparently some people were not. I will not name these people, but I will say this; it takes maybe a minute to make a phone call to keep people informed.
People, this is known as a "courtesy call". But I suppose for people who are not courteous, this task may become a difficult, even impossible, task.
Why am I ranting about this you ask?
Well, I was supposed to hang out with someone tonight who happens to be leaving for two months this Saturday. This person had chores to do that involved him moving stuff from one location to another. We planned to hang out after he finished. No problem, right?
I talked to this person at 6:30 in the evening. I offered to come over and help him move stuff, but he insisted upon me waiting until he got home for me to come over. That kind of hurt my feelings because other people were coming to help him too. But I let it go because he needs time with his friends. Burn.
He said he was unsure of when he would get home, but he estimated about an hour and a half to two hours. Okay fine.
Well 9:00 rolls around. Still no call. Maybe he got home and "forgot" to call me. Whatever. I will wait for him to call.
Nothing.
10:30 comes and goes and I have yet to hear from him. It had then reached the 4 hour point. Well I was a little upset, so I decided to call.
I am then informed by him that he had just arrived home. Wow.
So I question why he didn't call me. No reason at all. He then said that he was just about to call me. That's really assuring. Anyway I told him to call me back later.
God that pissed me off.
I may sound like a total bitch right now, but I think I have a reason to be upset. If you are running late and people are waiting for you to call them, CALL THEM. It takes no time at all and alleviates so much stress.
Not to mention, it stops me from having to write a 10 page long live journal.
