Bonfire Party!
It was amazing how much work was necessary for a small get together, but also how quickly and easily it went with the help of another person. Especially when that person happened to be on staff.
Together, Bryn and Sycora managed to get everything organized just the sky was beginning to grow dark. The bonfire was prepared with a large pile of wood stacked up into a point. Benches and warm blankets had been brought out to surround the bonfire (but at a safe distance from the flames and heat) and tables had also been set up.
On one table was a small selection of bottles from the tavern in the stable tower. Next to it, clean glasses lay, and beyond them a large bowl of spiced punch that seemed to herald to autumn weather.
Of course, drinks weren't the only thing being offered. On a second table near the beverages, a considerable amount of cupcakes sat in plain paper wrappers. They came in vanilla and chocolate cake flavors, and each one was topped with pink, blue, or yellow butter cream frosting. Next to them, a plate of less sugary cookies lay, as well as an assortment of small plates and napkins.
It was only after things were mostly prepared (at least to Bryn's satisfaction) that she opened her journal to make a note.
To my friends of the keep,
I hope you'll join us outside this evening. I've taken the liberty of throwing a small bonfire party out on the north side of the green. There's sweets and drinks and I thought it might be a nice opportunity for us to get to know each other better.
