There seem to be an awful lot of pigeons about today. They blanket the courtyards and pathways, cooing and fidgeting and fighting. They’re as flighty as ever, wheeling away in great flocks as soon as anyone approaches. It doesn't move while he goes for the canister, merely cooing softly while it stands still. Inside the canister is a note.

Sollux reads the note twice before looking back to the bird. "What the hell is this supposed to mean?"

Okay, he doesn't really expect it to respond, but you never knew in places like this. He does make a mental note of any other canister-wearing birds near by to double check, though.

The bird is already fluttering away. There are plenty more in the area if he wants to ask around though, or maybe that tower needs a look at.

The tower needs a look at, sure, but its far away...so Sollux opts for going after the closest pigeon with a canister. Maybe he can collect them on his way to the tower.

And the pigeons flutter about. Check it out, Sollux. The two nearest to him appear to be fighting. One has a canister on it's back.

He's tempted to wait until they're finished fighting, but that might end up in the canister-wearing one fleeing. And he's too worn out to really try to hold something with his psionics, so instead he just moves closer and tries to grab it, bird-fight and any pecks or scratches they cause him be damned.

For his efforts, Sollux gets a few pecks and scratches, but he also acquires a bird! The second flies away, leaving the canister strapped bird to Sollux.

They're just tiny cuts, even if any managed to draw blood he can't be arsed to even pretend to care at this point. Not compared to the claw marks he still has in his arm, at least.

Sollux relieves the bird of its note and tosses it aside releases it back into the wild.

The bird flies away, free to roam the skies forever and ever.

The note however, holds a rather interesting message.

The birds still mingle around the place, but they're a little harder to approach, let alone catch. The main flock has taken to the sky.

Sollux only cares about the ones with the canisters, anyway, so he watches the flock and the birds on the ground for a few moments. If he can spot any canisters he'll head towards the birds, if not he'll just head off too the tower after all.
