Tahlia walked into the tavern a little hesitantly. Her expression lit up instantly when she saw the ice sculptures. She scampered up to them and started poking them with interest.
Another person Bobby didn't recognize! He had a guess as to who she was, but didn't want to actually call her by name, in case she was someone who'd just decided to swing by, and hadn't commented on his earlier journal entry.
Instead, he just headed over to her with a smile, drink in hand.
"That's true! Wiggly statues would just be an eyesore. The ice sculpture police would come after you."
"Woo! I like to be a person of mystery. I feel like a secret agent or spy or something." She put her pointer fingers and thumbs together to make them look like a gun.
"There's ice sculpture police here? Man, I'm really in trouble, I make ice sculptures all the time. I better work extra hard to make sure they're not at all wiggly."
He grinned widely at Tahlia's make-shift gun. "What does that make you, tiny Bond?"
"Sneaky ice sculpture police, hiding everywhere like that. I'll have to start hiding my sculptures." Then Bobby grinned. "You smelled them? Do ice sculpture police have a really strong odor?"
He laughed at that, pleased she wasn't offended. "Whatever you say, shorty."
"You'll have be careful about hiding them too! They can get warrants and do searches," she paused to laugh before she answered his question,"They sure do, at least to my wolf nose. Untrained noses might not be able to smell them."
"Will see what you have to say after you bang your head on something I can just walk right under."
"Man, I'm going to have to become an expert at snow jobs." Yeah, he went for that pun, there. Bobby was just awesome like that. "Oh, you're a shifter! Cool! I know there's a couple around, but I've only met a few. I don't think I've actually met any wolves."
And there was another laugh. "I'll just reach for something that you can't get, and it'll be even."
"Ugh, you should be careful about your puns." Tahlia scolded him, but it came out in segments because she was laughing so hard. "I heard there is a pun police around too."
"Yup! We always referred to ourselves as werewolves, but you could call us shifters too."
"I'll just get a ladder! Who needs to be tall when there are ladders."
And by laughing at his incredibly lame pun, Tahlia officially joined his group of 'favorite people at the Keep.' "No pun police can stop me."
Bobby perked up a bit there. "Oh, cool! Everyone else I've seen around here has used shifter. Maybe because I haven't met any wolves. Do you do the full moon thing?"
He grinned. "This is a medieval castle. I don't think there's any ladders here. You'll have to ask someone tall, like me."
"Just wait until they arrest you. Then you'll be singing a different tune."
"I do! There was actually one a few days ago, too."
"Never! I'll just...stack stones. I'm sure there are lots of stones just waiting to be stacked." She nods her head like it is the best plan in the world.
"So cool!"

"You think so?
Reply
"Yeah, they're awesome! Did you make them with your ice powers?"
She wiggled her fingers in what she thought was an excellent demonstration.
"I'm Tahlia, by the way," she said when she realized Bobby had nothing to recognize her by.

He smiled when she introduced herself, because he'd been right about who she was. "Hi, Tahlia! Nice to meet you in person."
Reply
"Nice to meet you in person too," she smiles back at him, "Did you guess it was me? Or was I a mystery person up until now?"
Reply
He laughed. "I had suspicions! But I wasn't sure until you introduced yourself, so there was still some mystery."

"I'm not tiny! Everyone else is just a giant," she huffed, but she looked more amused than offended.

Dude, an actual werewolf. This is like, really cool. "Would it be weird to ask to see your wolf form some time?"
Bobby laughed again. "You'll have to be a champion stone stacker, otherwise the stones will fall over when you try to stand on them."
