Bryn had heard from her parents countless times that one should never strive to be the first to a party, or the last. That when someone said a party was to start, it didn't mean to be there at the starting point. It was about appearances of course. To be prompt but not eager.
Now that she was at the Keep, Bryn had let a lot of these things her parents taught her fall to the wayside.
She headed for the stable tavern as soon as Bobby's invitation went out, and peeked her head in.
Despite fiddling around with his ice sculptures, Bobby had been keeping an eye on the door, waiting to see if anyone'd come. He wouldn't admit that, of course, not readily anyway.
But it meant he saw Bryn peeking her head in pretty quickly, and headed over with a smile.
"Hi Bobby!" she replied, stepping in. Her eyes shifted to the ice sculptures around the room. It never failed to impress her what he could do with his mutant ability. It was astonishing, and beautiful.
She came in empty handed, but after a moment of debate, she walked forward to offer him a hug. "Happy birthday! How does twenty-one feel?"
Bobby was more than happy to accept the hug, hugging her back cheerfully.
Then he laughed a bit. "Roughly the same as twenty, actually, especially since I'm not likely to get carded here. I guess it does feel like a little bit of a milestone, though."
"Well it is, even if the age doesn't matter as much here," she replied with a smile. "So have you already gotten started or were you waiting for someone to have you first legal drink with?
"Do you have a preference? I don't know how to make many drinks but I've gotten the hang of some of the basics," she said, and then after pausing a beat she looked at what bottles were available. "Or we could start with a shot."
That would certainly kick this off with more of a bang.
Bryn picked up a bottle of what she was fairly certain was vodka, and poured some into a pair of glasses. Offering one to Bobby with a smile, she lifted hers in cheers.
"To a fantastic twenty-first and many more awesome birthdays to come!"

She hadn't brought a gift so it was the least she could do.

But his smile grew at her offer, and he followed her over to the bar. "Sure! That sounds awesome."

He glanced over the bottles as well, then looked back at her with a grin. "Yeah, I'm liking the shot idea."

He accepted the glass with an echoing smile, clinking it lightly against hers.
"Right back at you."
