Bobby'd been fortunate enough to actually read the announcement in the journals before he'd attempted to go out, so he was armed with a torch as he went off to the bonfire.
Well, no, that was kind of a lie. He was planning on heading to the bonfire, yeah, but not until he found Raven. It'd been pretty much his first reaction after reading Deior's warning that the Keep had been breached. It wasn't until he was already heading out that it occurred to him he could have made a journal post - but that would've felt too much like just waiting around. So he continued on, in search of Raven or his other friends, and trying not to worry too much.
She'd actually paid attention too - she'd been flipping through the pages, just kind of idly scanning them and responding when she felt like it when she'd read it.
And, staying in her room seemed like the safest way to do things, so of course she pocketed her journal and left, candle in hand.
She didn't see anyone right away - and the candle she had was pretty low and dripping wax into the holder. Frowning, she tried to quicken her pace. She didn't want to be stuck out here if the lights went out - not after that cryptic message.
The amount of relief Bobby felt at hearing Raven's voice was huge. At least she was safe. As safe as any of them could be in here, especially with that warning, but Bobby felt a million times better anyway.
"Raven?" he called, turning to head towards her voice. "I'm over here!"
"Me neither." If he'd been thinking clearly, he would've made an ice lantern for his candle to help reflect the light, but he pretty much hadn't been concerned with much more than making sure he had light, and then going to find people.
Fortunately, she sounded like she was getting closer, and then - yeah, there was her hand. Bobby reached out to snatch it, pulling her in close.
Oh, good - she had been right. That was his sleeve, and he was pulling her in and it was an automatic response to have her free hand encircle his waist as she came in close.
“Hey. Are you okay?”
Peering up at him, she smiled awkwardly and held her candle away so she wouldn’t accidentally set him on fire.
He responded automatically as well, releasing her hand to reach up and absently brush her hair back.
"Better now."
It came out of his mouth before he really thought about it, but corny as it probably sounded, it was the truth. He still had no idea what was going on, but knowing she was safe definitely made things a little better.
Her smile broadened, and she gave him a little squeeze.
"Much better."
The darkness was momentarily not as important, though she makes sure to keep her candle away from him. She doesn't want it to get frozen or for it to catch him on fire.
All right, he was less worried about how corny it sounded now that she agreed.
Actually, he was less worried about pretty much anything, because her arm was around his waist and she was smiling up at him, and that was really distracting.
Distracting in a very good way, and it takes a few moments for him to remind himself that something weird is going on.
Okay, Bobby felt better about his own brain lapse. At least it was both of them getting distracted from what was going on.
"I don't know," he admitted. "It kind of freaked me out, to be honest. I don't really like the idea of something out there waiting for us in the darkness."
He paused. "But on the other hand, if something managed to breach the walls and get in, that means there must be a way out, right?"
"Yeah, I don't like it either." The thought that something could be lurking just behind their little circle of light was pretty freaky, and she tightened her grip on him a little bit.
"...You know, maybe." Her tone turns a little thoughtful, and she looks around. "I'd say we should go investigate but..."
Getting killed in the process doesn't sound fun, and she's already lost Bobby once. She doesn't really want to deal with that again.
He wasn't at all opposed to the grip tightening. It was creeping him out, too, and he was happy to have her close.
Bobby considered that as well, then grimaced slightly. "Yeah. I vote waiting until we have light back, or at least are relatively sure that there's nothing out there lurking."
He didn't want anything bad to happen to her. Not to mention he really wasn't looking to die again any time soon.

"Bobby? Charles? Anyone?"

"I can't see anything!" Frustrated, she reaches out, trying to find the opposite wall, his arm -- anything, really.
"Is that you're sleeve? I really, really hope it is, Bobby."

Besides...this...wasn't really all that bad.

"Huh?"
She blinked, then realization dawned.
"Oh -- yeah. I did. What do you think about it all?"

"Though -- should...we get out of the hall, at least? Maybe see if there's a place that does have light?"

Because a big, giant fire keeping away the darkness sounded really good right about then.

She backed up and reached for his hand. It was just to make sure they didn't get lost, of course.
