Oh yes, that would be terrible. Good thing nothing like that's going to happen, right?

It's already almost two months since Shal had turned up at the Keep, and being stuck here was still just as frustrating as it had been on day one. Lately he's taken to wandering the grounds, feeling if only slightly less trapped when he was out here, away from the other residents.

And of course, one of the nicest places on the grounds? The Ivory Tower. It was relaxing, somehow, to be so high up and away from everything. So Shal makes his way up the winding staircase, hopping on to the roof through the trap door, and--oh. Someone was already out there. A little blonde girl... Lily, right? He was pretty sure that was her name. He gives her a smile, rubbing his his head bashfully.

"I guess I'm not the only one who comes up here, huh? I hope I'm not interrupting."

Oh, a person! Lily brightens. She's always ready for a conversation, even when she's supposed to be alone. What sort of extrovert would she be if she wasn't?

"Oh, no, it's fine!" Lily chirps. "It's a nice place, I totally understand why you come here. You can see everything." Literally everything! See that flicker way over there? That's the bonfire! I digress. "You aaare...? I know your voice, but..."

"Shalnark." He smiles. "But just Shal is fine, too."

He gazes out over the Keep, smiling fondly despite the loathing he feels for the place.

"Mind if I sit with you for a while?"

"Shal, right! I'm Lily. Sit down!"

Smiles! Lily didn't think anybody else shared her fondness for the Keep. Didn't Shal say he hated it? But that look is so genuine! Maybe he's warmed to the place. That's great!

Lily is not very smart.

"Why do you come up here?"
