Aara awakens to the sound of her own whimper, gasping at the sound before she abruptly sits up in a room she does not remember ever having seen before. Her heart beats in triple time, panic and horror and an incomprehensible sadness laying heavy in her heart. Trembles shake her form, and Aara rises from bed cautiously, hunkering down low to the floor and looking very much like she wanted nothing more than to run until her strength was completely depleted.
Thoughts are jumbled one-word phrases in her head. Emotions riot wildly within. Aara breiffly recognized one thing for what it was, however: a door. Slowly, extra carefully, Aara eases towards it. Then a long strand of bloodied hair falls over her shoulder and she freezes mid-stride. Lifting majorly shaking hands to her hair, Aara feels something warm and wet and--
She looks down at herself. A half whimper, half strangled sob escapes. Blood. There is so much blood. Everywhere. Loud moans and terrified whimpers escape past her lips on every exhale. Her heart beats even faster than it did before. With awkward hands, Aara opens the door to her room and runs through the barracks, high pitched cries following her path. The fact that she is naked is not a concern of hers. The fact that there is blood all over her, however--
She doesn't know where she is, but finding herself in this condition does not make her feel safe.
