He'd been in the library, keeping an optic on his charges -- of course he'd heard the noise. It was impossible not to. It sort of sounded like him when someone got on his bad side.

All the more reason to investigate.

The old warrior steps outside, taking stock of his surroundings. He takes one look at the beast, and shakes his cannons free from his arms. There's been no need for them since the battle with the End, but the weapons are in perfect working order. Another panel slides down over his face, protecting the more delicate workings.

"You want a piece of me!" he calls out, his voice booming across the open space. "Come and take it!"

That shriek definitely got his attention and he followed it to its source. What he saw he didn't like at all. A dragon. A zombie dragon. That thing could spread this disease faster than anything else in this keep. It had to die before it caused anymore trouble.

From the look of things he wasn't the only one of that opinion either. Ironhide was already getting its attention.

"Da wings mon! Go fuh da wings!" Kevas shouted as he rushed towards the dragon's flank. This might not be a dragon from his world, but he was sure he had more experience with dealing with them than Ironhide did. If they crippled the wings then they could kill it.

Yeah, it'd gotten Bobby's attention, too. He'd come running from where he'd been working on a barricade, and his suspicions were confirmed as soon as he saw the dragon.

Aara. He swallowed heavily, but didn't bother trying to call out to her. He'd seen zombies around already; he knew there was nothing left of her in there. She had to be kept from hurting anyone, and there was no way he was going to leave the other two there to fight her alone.

Bobby didn't say anything in reply to Kevas's comment about the wings, in case it drew Aara's attention towards him. Instead he just rushed for her, shifting into his ice form as he went. He reached out with an ice blast, grabbing the moisture in the air around her wings with the intention of freezing them solid.

Triumphant shrieks rent the air as a gleam of reflected light caught the zombie's attention. Spiraling down fast toward new prey, another sound captures the dragon's attention and Aara pauses a moment mid-air, wondering which prey to fall upon to rip with fangs and claws.

Then sweeping cold washes over the boiling haze encompassing the zombie dragon's form. Wings cease their beating, encased in thick ice. A surprised and furious roar leaves spittle raining down below her as she plummets to the ground--fast--faster. She collides, talons ripping open the earth as her tail flicks and whips out behind her, great maw wide open with pointed fangs on display for all to see.

The wings, huh? That made sense. How else did one take down jets? You went for their wings. Even if that hadn't been his experience, he trusted Kevas enough, after the Elegante to listen.

As soon as the creature hits the earth, Ironhide wades in. Well. Maybe "wade" is a poor choice of verb. He charges in -- a multiton mass of armor and weaponry, his good optic trained on his target.

The creature's wing.

If it didn't swing it out of the way, the big Autobot would charge straight into it, grasping the wing bone and membrane in huge, heavy hands -- aiming to twist it, break it.

So there was someone else here to help. Well Kevas wasn't about to run him off, especially after seeing what he could do. They may need all the help they could get with this one.

While Ironhide attempted to grapple its wing Kevas tried to leap onto its back. His goal was to drive his sword through its eye and hopefully into its brain for a quick and easy kill.

Well. At least she was on the ground now. As the giant awesome robot that must've been the one Xanth told him about went to take out her wings completely, the other guy was trying to get on her back, Bobby went with trying to make her as immobile as possible.

He dove forward, crouching low to the ground and focusing on her legs, attempting to freeze the ones closest to him first: her front ones.

Unfortunately for the Zombie!dragon, it's wings were too frozen to pull back out of the way--or move at all. Scales, tissue, and bone break with an audible snap. The blood and tissue remains frozen, one large white wing hanging limply at an angle no dragon's wing should be at.

A deep, bellowing dragon's roar reverberates up from the depths of the zombie's belly.. Not from the pain of its appendage being mashed to bits--the ice helped numb most of that--but from it's immovability. Feeling something jump on her back, the dragon shrieks and twists every part of her body that yet remained unfrozen, snapping her neck back and to the side so she might try to take a bite out of whoever dared near her powerful jaws. Sword met flesh, blood oozing out of one eye as it held for a moment, then popped like a grape. Louder shrieking and rumbling can be heard, the zombie rising up on hind legs and attempting to fall on and smash any in her way, teeth striking out once more and almost completely frozen claws attempt to rip through flesh--or metal.

They were freezing it. Good. That would make it more difficult for the creature to move. He let it rip its damaged wing away from him, let it howl, and try to bite. Ironhide had yet to meet an organic that could punch through his armor. So long as it didn't catch the hole in his chest.

As it rose up, Ironhide ducked, reaching for one of the frozen limbs, trying to twist and break it as he had done to the wing.

"Down, creature!"

He struck flesh but the blow wasn't deep enough. It had moved its head before he could drive the sword deeper. Still, taking an eye from it was an accomplishment. Now it would have an even harder time tracking them. If they were lucky they could get through this without too much trouble. How Kevas hoped they would get lucky.

As the dragon reared back Kevas lost his footing and tumbled off it. He hit the ground with a hard thud, but quickly sprung back to his feet. With Ironhide trying grapple its arm Kevas tried to drive his sword into one of its back legs. Whether or not his blunted blades could pierce its thick hide he didn't know but he had to try.

Bobby was right up close to her freezing around her legs, so when she started snapping at things, he was right there. Her jaws closed around his outstretched arm, and right about then he was really grateful he'd gone into his ice form. He generated cold inside her mouth, doing his best to freeze as much as he could before she pulled away.

Ignoring his arm - it wasn't like it really hurt in this form, and he'd check any possible damage later - he turned back to his previous task. This time, Bobby didn't waste energy on creating ice around her back legs, he just went straight for freezing the blood inside them. He was definitely starting to notice the difference between using his powers here and using them back home.

Not wanting to be left unarmed when his powers were burned out, he used up some of his remaining energy to make an ice sword, focusing on making it strong and sharp and accepting that he'd have to switch over to less powered combat.

A mouthful of ice was the last think the zombie wanted, though having something to chomp down on finally was certainly taken advantage of. Three strong bites, and ice began freezing tongue and jaws. The dragon reared its head back and attempted to snap its jaws shut to rid itself of the ice, tongue frozen and stifling the sound emitted deep within the zombie's throat.

Then its other wing was seized, being wrenched and twisted. Brittle bone and tissue snapped into splintered pieces, raining down on the ground around them. Pain sluiced through hide quarters, and the zombie let out a short, cut off roar. It was loosing steam. It was already down on the ground. It wouldn't give up this fight, however.

Couldn't.

The remaining good hind leg kicked out toward whatever was giving it pain. Teeth and claws lashed out and the other remaining two. Certain glowing drew the zombie's remaining eye, and the dragon went for those shining lights.

"Not so fast."

Ironhide needed to work on his quips. Even so, as the jaws came down toward him, huge hands snapped up, grasping the upper and lower jaw in each hand. He was faster than he looked, some days. He growls. And, with the strength only a machine can possess, attempts to pry the creature's jaws clean apart.

Claws shredded through Kevas' leather armor tearing deep into flesh. A sudden horror crept through the troll's spine. His blood had mixed with the dragon's. He was infected. As this cold realization sank in rage began to bubble up inside him. Kevas was a dead man now so he may as well fight like a dead man.

Ignoring his wound completely, Kevas snarled and rushed up the back of the dragon a second time stabbing at anything and everything within reach. As he neared its head again Kevas made another lunge for the eyes. This time he was going to drive his blades in there and keep them there, or at least try.

The giant robot was doing all right against the dragon's jaws and claws, but the green guy was injured, and Bobby'd already been chomped a few times. He wasn't really wanting either to happen again. The robot was grappling with the jaw, so Bobby went for the claws.

He had to take out those legs, even if it sucked at the rest of his strength. He charged in close, because it was easier forming ice on things that were right next to him, ducking under the dragon's body.

And then Bobby let loose, building ice around all four of the dragon's legs, going fast and big, trying to get enough of it there to freeze them to the ground. And hoping he didn't get too exhausted to use his powers any more before that happened.

The zombie's movements were already slowing down--what with its blood being cooled and frozen in parts. The dragon still attempts to lift any and every frozen limb within use by unfrozen joints, however, using tail, limbs, and neck as clubs. When strong metal clamps onto the top and bottom of Aara's jaw, the dragon zombie screams in rage and attempts to clamp down on metal. A struggle ensues, but the robot is stronger. A crack and pop resonate and shakes through the zombie's form from skull to tail as her jaw dislocated and a shriek of pain and zombie rage gurgled forth from what remains. Flesh tears and blood drips down. Aara's pale blue dragon's eye widens impossibly before rolling into the back of her skull.

Limbs and underbelly as suddenly frozen--the zombie is good and well trapped. It's only a couple moments later that Kevas's sword strikes true--

With a soft snort, the zombie Dragon leans and sways, blood coating shiny white scales in dark rivulets of contrast.

They felled the demon.
