Car update and more!

I got my car from the towing storage lot today and it was in quite good condition: nearly exactly as I had left it, and nothing stolen. So I have my Focus back, but I'm still thinking about getting a new car: perhaps a Prius or a convertible of some sort. But I'm going to wait before I get it. Did the police share any information on who took the car, where and how it was recovered, etc.?

No, not really. They just found it as an abandoned vehicle.

When mine was stolen and then abandoned in a nearby apartment parking lot, the police officer offered two possible explanations. He said it could be a gang initiation requirement. The other possibility is that, to guard against the possibility that the car could have lo-jack and be tracked, thieves will steal a car and leave it somewhere else, and if it's still there a few days later, complete the theft. If something happens to them in the meantime, the car remains where it was left.
