This will probably be very extremely super long, so I have added shortcuts just for you!
Alaska was incredibly beautiful...at least most of it. We left the
29th, and got into Anchorage about 10:00(it's a 2 hour time difference
there). While we were flying over, I looked out of my window. There was
this incredible blanket of clouds below us. As we got closer to
Anchorage, a single white tower rose out of the clouds...i think it was
Mt. McKinley. I was overtaken with awe that something so beautiful
could rise out of nothingness...
We had reservations at a place called the Paradise Inn. Hint: do not stay there.
I could not believe how gross it was. It was run by these Asian people
in the back of their restaurant. That in itself was not bad, but it had
pee stains on the carpet and green....stuff...growing on the walls.
Plus, when my dad went to "check-in", they had jacked up the price
another 20 bucks. I don't think that I need to say we didn't end
up staying there. lol.
We ended up staying at the first place we could find that was decent,
and when we got out of the car w/ all our camping gear, the taxi driver
said that the Paradise was a place for drug dealers and prostitutes. oh
yippee.
The rest of the trip was a lot better. We rented an SUV (a GMC
Jimmy, for all of you car fans) and started driving to Denali National
Park the morning of the 30th. The drive there was beautiful, even
though I slept part of the way.
I will continue this later!!!
