Things I've Learned The Last Two Days

So, we go to college to learn about whatever career we're pursuing. But we also learn a lot more.

I learned that Microsoft Word is the Anti-Christ (direct quote from a girl in my class). It should not be used for document design - that's what InDesign is for.

I learned that ditzy girls do still take Spanish class, only now they're funny. In a discussion where we were asked to identify Spanglish verbs (i.e. and English verb ending in -alo), the girl sitting behind me goes, "Dogalo?" The girl next to her whispers, "We're doing verbs you retard!"

I learned a new expletive in Spanish: PUTA. I like it.

I learned that everything in Dr. Bailey's class connects to sports and/or MSU. He ended the lecture on higher education in the 1800s with the formation of MAC, and, when discussing the mad rush out to California in the 1840s, said, "you thought you'd be going to California in a month or so..." hmm...wishful thinking.

I learned that...oh wait, I didn't get anything from that class. Except that one of my group mates really likes "The Big Lebowski" and worked it into our project. I loled.

I learned that we can do whatever the hell we want in Smith's class. We basically did that all hour.

I learned that I am right on track with my PW requrements! My amazing advisor, Dánielle, said I'll have a lot of freedom with my schedule senior year, other than my JRN requirements (for my cognate). She said the DCI internship I want looks great (!) and that if it doesn't work out, I might be able to get one through the Writing Center, depending on how WRA395 goes (writing center practicum). Oh, and she'll look at my resume for me. Sweet! I love her. Well, that I already knew.

I learned that I can talk football with just about anyone.

And I learned that if we go to the Outback Bowl, we'd probably be playing South Carolina: the (Game)Cocks. Ian told me that - big surprise, I know.

football, class
