Are You Serious?

Burress relatively unapologetic in return to team - NFL - Yahoo! Sports

So the lead in on Yahoo for that story was just that he was unapologetic about his suspension - he missed a team meeting without telling anyone. I was like, "oh no, not Plaxico! Not a Spartan!"

Read on, and you find out it was because he had to take his son to school. Hardly a "family emergency," and he could have called to let them know (which he said he would in the future), but...are they seriously vilifying and punishing a guy for taking care of his kids?

Personally, I think that shows class: putting family in front of career. That's not something he should have to apologize for. As a Spartan, I'm proud of him. As a former journalism major, this makes me even more glad I'm out of that field, because he shouldn't have to face crap for that. As an almost-feminist, I'm glad to see a guy stepping up with his kids (my dad never had qualms about it either).

High five, Plax. Middle finger, Tom Cavanan, AP Sports Reporter (but thank you for ranking our team!).

football, journalism, plaxico burress
