We're back!

Today is the first day of summer classes. I'm excited to see how my classes will be this semester. I am taking four classes, three of which will be online. Hopefully I can handle it. I don't want to ruin my 4.0 gpa!

Kevan and I got back from our cruise on Friday. It was an amazing trip. We went to Miami on Sunday, then left for the cruise on Monday morning. We went to Nassau, Coco Cay, and Key West. In Nassau, we walked around the straw market and all the shops right by the port. That was a lot of fun. Then we went to a Pirate museum (Kevan's family may or may not have pirate roots). The museum was fun - and air conditioned. It reminded me of the Gilmore Girls episode where Taylor turns the old house into a Stars Hollow museum, complete with the ridiculous mannequins posed in hilarious positions. After that, Kevan's uncle picked us up and took us to d'Albenas Agency, which is a distribution warehouse. We got the 10 cent, turned 10 dollar, turned 100 dollar tour. Then his dad drove us around Nassau and showed us where he grew up and where they bought their first house. It was really cool to see the 'real' Nassau, instead of just the tourism Nassau. After that, we went back to the ship to rest and clean up a little bit, and then his dad picked us up again and took us to a fancy shmancy restaurant with his uncle and aunt and two business partners. It was so much fun and so delicious.

(My journal keeps shifting, and the window keeps getting longer and longer... this better not explode. I'm going to copy it to a word document before I post it so that if it explodes I won't lose it.)

The second day, we went to Coco Cay. That was a lot of fun. I woke up and looked out the window, and we were just floating in the middle of the ocean. We took a tender boat to the island, and then walked around the Disney version of the straw market on the island. I bought a straw hat and then we went over to the snorkeling hut. We got all the equipment and got instructed how to use it, then we were free to snorkel!! The beach was very calm - there were no waves. So we just walked in and started snorkeling. There were several small natural reefs, and also a couple of man made reefs. It was so much fun. We were in the water for probably more than an hour and a half, just snorkeling around. The water was so crystal clear that we saw so many fishys and seaweeds and stuff. We even got to go over an edge, where the bottom dropped down to thirty of forty feet, and were still able to see the bottom. My favorite fishy was one that looked like sand, with both eyes on top of his body. Kevan's favorite were two gigantic parrot fish - those kind of creeped me out. It was so much fun. Snorkeling off of a desert island in the middle of the Bahamas! How AWESOME!

The next day, we went to Key West. Of course, it just couldn't compare to the previous two, amazingly awesome days. It was Florida again, so it was sticky hot. We walked around, experienced Key West, and returned to the ship. It was so hot. Then we rode the Crazy Boat. That was cool. It was a 16 seat boat that had special engines that allowed the guy to drive it all CRAZY! We spun around and skidded and went really fast. It was a lot of fun, but kind of scary all at once. We walked off that boat completely drenched.

On Friday, Kevan's dad picked us up, and then Kevan and I drove to Orlando. We checked into the hotel, went and ate Giovanni's (one of our favorite restaurants) for dinner, went back to the hotel and went to sleep. We woke up early on Saturday to go see Emily graduate. I'm really glad I got to see her walk. Warm fuzzies all around. Then we went to Chris's parents house for the graduation party and saw some old friends. Then we went back to the hotel and slept some more, then we went to Emily's apartment to have the drunken party. The drunken part of the party didn't happen (who talks about taxes in a social setting?! Honestly!) so we hung out for a little while and then went back to the hotel. Sunday, we woke up early and drove home. Whew! What a trip!!

There's an update for all of you fine folks! I want to go snorkeling again! I recommend it to anyone and everyone!
