Now, my Frenchifying skills aren't completely fresh, but...
Now, if I'm reading it right....
We are like a song,
You, who had loved me, and I, who had loved you.
We lived through everything, the two of us,
You, who loved me, and I, who loved you.
But life separates those who love each other,
Completely softly without a sound.
And the sea erases on the sand
The footprints of the separated lovers
Yeah. Something like that. In any case, Dude. That pales the English counterpart, I think. What happened to good old-fashioned fluff like this? Have the poets died out? Is it unmanly or something to create mindblowing metaphors like the Latin American poets? Or lyricism and fluidity of the French? Or the simplicity of a haiku? Dude. What has happened. Maybe I'm just looking in all the wrong places lately.
I'm such a sap.
