I'm loving these series, it's very interesting. I don't usually read stuff that dark, but these one caught my attention. Sirius insanity was done nicely, loved the bit where he locks himself in the closet. And the disguised newspaper made me laugh madly, 'cause my mom has dozens of these romance books.
I really liked the intimate scene at the beginning, but I loved the breakfast table part. Remus post-coitally perky, Sirius sore and somewhat grumpy- very realistic. Also liked how the subject of Harry came up. It all felt very natural, and flowed easily.
But now I think we've turned up the true mystery of this story - why did the cowboy leave his lady? I guess we'll never find out, what with this Remus/Sirius subplot you're distracted with. ;)

Seriously, though, this is a fantastic story. I'm enjoying it a lot. I just read through the first six chapters, and I'm enthralled. You're a goddess, you know that? If I ever met you in person, you'd have a hard time pulling me up off my knees and pulling my mouth off your feet.
"Yes. But I hated you too much then to even consider loving you."
Hm, that was something new. "So now you love me."
"Yes," Another yawn. "Never got into the habit of casual sex." Just like that, like he admitted to loving people every other day and twice on Sundays. And people thought he was barmy.
I loved this!!
His closest friend, his only friend, sat back down to his own plate and they ate in companionable silence, and no one looking in that dingy kitchen would have thought that either of them carried a monster inside.
I thought this was particularly important to the entire piece...do we really know what our lovd ones think of us...? Food for thought for sure!
