So, since I've decided to write the 'antivenin works' story I've been putting the outline together and writing the first chapter so my 'Muse' can look it over. She loves the first chap, but she didn't think my outline was realistic. Since the conversation we had pretty much says it all, I'll post what I remember (posted with her permission):
Me: I don't see what's wrong with it.
Muse: Think about it. You're a vampire for eighty years, and I'll use Edward as an example because Carlisle is a saint with control that no mere mortal can hope for. So, you're a vampire for eighty years, and suddenly you're human again. What would be the first thing you do?
Me: Evacuate the bladder. Especially if I've been holding onto that for eighty years, it'd be like Austin Powers...
Muse: After bodily functions.
Me: Including sleeping with whoever was in arm distance out of joy.
Muse: Let's count that as a bodily function.
Me: Go get some good food, then get rip roaring drunk, probably do some more adult-oriented activities.
Muse: And what do you have them doing?
Me: Not that. Now I see.
So, I've re-worked the outline, and with her permission I can start working out details. She is also designing my 'playlist' for the story, as she did with FTGG, Awake, and Fire and Ice. It's all I'm allowed to listen to while I'm writing. There's a reason I call her my 'muse'. As soon as I'm done with Fire and Ice, I'll post the first chapter. I'm not lying, it's mostly on the comp so I'll probably post it fifteen minutes after the final chapter of Fire and Ice. I'm excited. And hungover. Dumb bachelorettes and their body shots of hot male dancers...
