we like to tell ourselves that our only real thoughts are the ones we dwell on. but the truth is, many more thoughts enter our heads, a new one every millisecond, but we tend to sweep them away because we're ashamed of them or because they're inconvenient. and when, suddenly, they are convenient, we dredge them up again and tell ourselves that we thought them all along.
